West Ham losing once again 1-0 down to Reading. Mascherano left on the bench but Tezez starting and seemingly playing as a proper striker. I cant really see Mascherano failing in the long run. A very good footballer and i see no reason why he cant play in the premiership.
Could've said exactly the same thing about this fella too tho

Yes Veron was a terrible dissapontment, he was quite exceptional in Seria A when i used to watch it on Channel 4. They are very different players though. For a start Mascherano can tackle and probably has more energy. He is also younger and has more time to adapt and is probably under less pressure than Veron.

They are different players, no doubt, but Argentine players have a very mediocre track-record over here. Of the many to ply their trade only really Ardiles, Villa & Heinze have had any kind of success.

I remain not altogether convinced that Pardew fancies Tevez or Mascherano as players.

Im sure that Mascherano will come good, not so sure about Tevez. A brilliant South American expert Tim Vikery says that Tezez will only be a success if he plays with a big stirker which West Ham do possess and that the ball is played to his feet whare he can turn defenders.

i see the boring waste of time internationals are approaching once again.

also notice that the bbc has labled the current state of the england side as being under the "mclaren revolution", surely one of the most misleading terms ever used, what a load of crap.

Yea he looks impressive so far this season, but i remember hearing that he was still contemplating whether to play for England or Nigeria.
He rejected Nigeria and is in the U21 squad for Friday's game at the Ricoh.

True but I rate Ferdinand as a better defender
Based on what exactly?

On the ball I'd agree, but as an actual defender he makes too many concentration-related mistakes.

Last time I watched Carragher play for England he gave the ball away repeatedly, just didn't look good enough on the ball. Can't afford to do that in international football against decent opposition.
He was playing out of position at right back (having not played there for at least a couple of years)

If he were playing in his proper position such "flaws" wouldn't be a problem.

on the same criteria gary neville should be excluded from the side as well then, and on his world cup showings so can frank lampard.

3-5-2 for England one-day?

Don't think we should play that right now since at full-strenght 4-4-2 definately work well for us and we should go into Euro 2008 with 4-4-2.

But after Euro 2008 i think 3-5-2 is a strong possiblity but it depends on Neville is think if he is still around by 2010 i think he will still play since even though he will be 35 or so then, Neville is one of those invaluable, under-rated players that are so important to a side especially ours and once he doesn't call it a day on his international career could still be our number on by 2010 since they are very few good full-backs around or coming up in the ransk & with the amount of talent in mid-field 3-5-2 would work well i think.

micah richards anyone?
Oh yea yea, forgot about this bloke, he is a real talent

nevilles passing is awful, its the worst aspect of his game by miles
Well yea, but he doesn't really get shown up for it at international level.

steven gerrard only counts for one of those 5 you realise?
na na, i know you just want to give a laugh..

(Gary) Neville just ends up punting it most of the time, for Manure or England, not sure I'd even call it 'passing'. Still at least he's giving it away in the opponent's half, as opposed to Carragher who gives it away in his own half.

lets hope someone buys him, if he's anygood we can't have him rotting at City.

of course that has nothing to do with the 25% sell on clause Oldham have on him
