You mean nowhere near the reckonin for you, since he certainy has a chance to displace Downing as the #2 left-sided player behind Cole between now Euro 2008
Oh really?

And you base that on what exactly, seeing as he's not been selected for how long exactly?

yea probably 8 i said 9 since P Neville played right back the other day. If he picks Parker & plays King in the holding position something is wrong.
Since King's been in squads whenever fit for the last couple of years, I dare suggest he's ahead of your hero.

No, i think he's back as one of 9 defenders. Hopefully the likes Richardson, Jenas & P Neville do enough crap to be out of the side by year end.
Neville is hardly bad though. I'm guessing he's just gotten used to playing well in midfield for Everton and having to swicth suddenly isn't easy i'd suspect but he did ok in teh role.

To be honest I'd rather he didn't try Neville at full back any more - players should not be made to adjust that much at the highest level, and also his brother's now fit :)

King really shouldnt be above Parker though, King is a sluggish player and i thought was very poor in defence against Liverpool last week. Plus he cant pass and England dont need a specialist holding player against the level of opposition they will be facing. Parker is a far superior player to King.

Well it depends entirely on what one considers their best role for England to be. Parker isn't a defensive midfielder; he's really more of a (vastly inferior) box-to-box midfielder in the mould of Essien. He isn't a like-for-like for Hargreaves any more than Carrick would be. If Parker is to play for England we'd have to leave out either Fat Frank or Stevie G & he isn't in their class.

Of course King isn't a defensive midfielder either, but he's more likely to provide cover for the back four (which we will probably need v Croatia at least) than Carrick or Parker. Hargreaves aside we don't really have a defensive midfielder who's up to it, which is why defenders like Ledley & Neville jnr are considered for the role.

Again, how is Reo-Coker rated? I'm really surprised he hasn't been seriously talked about alot as every time I watch him play he's impressed me, even in losing Villa causes.

Shocking call. I'd be spewing if I were a Pool fan.

Surely if a lino's not sure he should err on the side of caution rather than give the wrong decision.
