Really doesnt look like it. Despite superkingdaves reaction to Ronny Moore leaving Oldham i would be pretty happy if Brentford could get him. Not sure if he would come to london though, Ian Holloway is out of a job as well.
Isn't Holloway still on gardening leave?

He must have a huge garden!

ronnie moore is an excellent coach, even if he is a bit of an egotist, if brentford can get either him or holloway they will be doing very well.
Ronnie Moore is a prat who will sign a load of old players, preferably ones who were with him at Rotherham if he can and get them to play the worst football you can imagine.

You are welcome to him, think he's off to Tranny though

Ronnie Moore is a prat
that being the case, he is still great. Were it not for him, rotherham would have been in a much sorrier state, and would never have reached division one as it were at the time, and certainly would not have stayed up for as long as they did, crap board of directors is the reason they are in such a quaqmire now, not ronnie.

oh he might be able to scrape together results, and i thought he was a good choice before he came, but really the standard of football he brought to Boundary Park was worse than i've ever seen before, inlcuding when Warnock was in charge.

Even then this season he had a lot more money that most clubs, a fair few decent players, and we really should have been in the playoffs at least.

yeah fair enough, it doesnt make for good watching, but he does get the results.
the fans voted with their feet and season ticket sales were vastly down as people weren't prepared to watch his brand of football, I suppose it depends on what the fans are used to, we've probably been spoilt at BP over the years. In the end the club had no choice to sack him as it was badly impacting on this seasons budget

its a shame it had to come to that, as with a decent budget he could have probably been a great sucess, any idea who the replacement will be?

At Griffin Park we are pretty used to poor football but id rather not see it. Many seasons they dont seem to grasp the concept of the game. The ball seems to have a mind of its own and there are just 20 men running around and occasionaly kicking it.

as i said, he had one of, if not the highest budget, in the division last year and totally underperformed.

John Sheridan has already been named as his replacement

Next time I'm in the UK I will definatly go to a lower division game or two, instead of this Premier League lark. Shame I didn't have the time last time as I wanted to go and watch FC United of Manchester play

I have been thinking about this for a while, now I'm no legal expert, but does the Cyrstal Palace chairman Simon Jordan have a leg to stand on since he is preparing to sue Iain Dowie over his move to Charlton? I'm guessing that Dowie was having talks with Charlton and resigned so Charlton won't have to pay compensation to Palace, when Dowie has said he was considering moving back up to the North-West.

It would be like I guess Man U sacking Ferguson and then Mourinho resigning in a short period of time later (even give it a month or so) and being announced manager of MU.

Depends if he can prove that they were speaking before Dowie resigned.

Personally I find Jordan a self-opiniated windbag so hope he gets laughed out of court.

Ah good to see an Oldham and a Brentford fan in this thread. it's been a dramatic week for us at Tranmere, certainly the most exciting one in about a year, and more exciting than any match we've played in recent memory!

Basically at the weekend Aldridge was red hot favourite to make a glorious return to the club he took where it had never been before

But then on Tuesday night Allen announced his resignation from Brentford and the rumour mill went into overdrive about him coming to us - rumour has it that Uncle Peter is going to put his hand in his pocket for players, and that is how MA was enticed.

However, Ronnie Moore left Oldham yesterday and was instantly installed as the new favourite for the job. He is, after all, a Tranmere legend, and whatever he did at Oldham, he did a great job at Rotherham. BUT as news of Moore's departure was announced, Greg Dyke, Brentford chairman, announced that we wanted Allen and we had to pay for him (£75k apparently). Moore has staked his claim for the job, the fans want Allen, and apparently Craig Levein is in the running as well. It is better than anything currently on television!

Allen or Moore would do an excellent job for you. Even if he doesnt go to Tranmere it looks almost certain that Allen is leaving Brentford which with the depature of so many players will probably spell the end to this good little period at the bees, unless they can ger a really good man in and Greg can get them some money.

It's a shame, season just gone Brentford really impressed me, that's why there is an online petition going on demanding that he gets the Tranmere job, but it's a shame for Brentford, you looked a great side, especially at PP where we were rolled over. Season before I wasn't as impressed, seemed more of a physical side but it was obvious that he was building something. Two play-offs and two FA Cup 5th Rounds in successive yearsfor a club like Brentford is a phenomenal achievment and I hope you get someone good, regardless of where Allen ends up.

They had their chance this year but folded in the last 10 games of the season. Brentford are a great league 1 club and that is how they are likely to stay.

Just hope to God you don't get Carlton Palmer...
