so you all are saying that Saha in the form of his life is mediocre?, i cant see how Rossi is mediocre he is a great talent after a couple of games next season he could turn out to be good so to just call him mediocre based on his limited oppurtunities to date is pretty stupid. Plus Ole has been a great servant to Man U & overall as a player is a better than just mediocre.

I'd rather have...say...Fowler than any of them.

Rossi in a few years will be good, but he isn't yet.
Solskjaer is essentially past it - certainly isn't a top Premiership player now
Saha from out of nowhere really has decided to start scoring goals, but he'll return to mediocrity soon enough.

why on earth would tottenham fix the match, im not accusing anyone, the rule is designed to prevent west ham from losing on purpose to cost arsenal, not that it would happen, but that kind of thing has happened in a world cup before, im sure someone has the right example...

i think you sentiments shown below sum that statement up nicely.

and why is it rossi can become very good? because he does on football manager? Saha albeit mediocre is the best of that lot, although solskjaer was once one of the most underated players in the premiership injuries will have taken his toll one him by now.
Ok. Didn't know what you were getting at.

Not really. If a player does nothing to impress yet you still buy him isn't that a risk?

Have you seen Rossi play? Obviously not. Never played with Rossi on FM thank you. Solskjaer has not been given enough games to sensibly make a judgement on how good he still is. IMO it'd be best to wait until a few games into next season to determine whether he's washed up or not.

Granted, I still think another striker's needed though.

I know that wasn't directed at me - but the only time i've seen him play was that game in the FA Cup against Burton Albion. Proved that he's certainly waaay above Conference level, but worthy of playing most of the season in the Premiership - not just yet i don't think.

He's around Championship level but close to Premiership level.
He can only be one or the other, there's a big gap.

And by saying that, you're agreeing with my comment anyway!

I'm not ****ing happy about Arsenal going through at all. They don't deserve to be there IMO and the food poisoning situation is an absolute joke. If it wasn't for that they wouldn't be in Europe next season, hopefully Barca thrash them good and proper.

On a brigheter note, GO LEEDS! :D

LEEDS! LEEDS! LEEDS! LEEDS UNITED! :D

Typical Dirty Leeds - 8 bookings, 2 sendings off. Some things never change.

:D

We'll probably end up playing Watford, I'm pretty confident either way though.

How's the takeover working for Derby btw?

yeah i think thats right, he had a stint with some icelandic side as well.

Now you know things are bad when you are going to play in Iceland, I mean not even Gazza would even consider going there (remember his failed stint in the Chinese 2nd Division ). I doubt they would even have any Brazilians (could be wrong though) playing for them even though most leagues have a shed load of them.

Suppose it is something different I guess.

i dont think it was a ery succesful episode, lasted less than a few months, speaking of gazza though, he had spells with boston and a team in the algarve which lasted a very short time, not to mention his disasterous management outing.

I think we can agree why Dino Zoff burst out laughing when he found out when Gazza had become a manager?

indeed, stupid appointment, hes totally unreliable, and he finds it difficult to get people who speak any sort of english to undersrtand him, i do feel sorry for gazza as i think hes not right in the head, but he just shouldnt have anything to do with football in any professional capacity. I remember at the last world cup when he was sent out on the streets to interview members of the public, that was simply awful.

Been there, done that (and to semi-local rivals too - Fester).

You get over it within a century or two.
Was that 93-94 Eddie? Leicester knocked us out in the semis...after one of their players handled on the line and no penalty was given :@

They were managed by Brian Little at the time, who later went on to knock us out the play-offs twelve years later with immense negativity in the away leg when he was our manager

I hate football

So it was OK for you to use the "if they did something" argument, but not for it to be used against you...
I said it was going to be close, and that Chelsea are by no means a "given" for the next season's title. Yes, that game was close too, and it went the other way. I'm not taking anything away from what Chelsea have done this season, I was merely pointing out that it's still very much up for grabs in the next because the top teams have shown that they are indeed capable of matching Chelsea. They just need to find the consistency and they'll do fine.

Also, saying Rooney + 3 degrees of mediocrity when speaking of Saha in the latter grouping is a bit of a joke. How many goals did Saha score in how many matches, again? Who was it that was preferred to van Nistelrooy on pure merit and results? Saying Saha is mediocre is a bit harsh, isn't it?

Solskjaer is obviously past his best but unless you've seen Rossi play more than one game, I think it would be unfair to comment on him just yet. The goals I've seen him score have been bloody good ones.

Because he's never failed at any level he's played in so far. Who are you to say who is and is not able to perform? Nobody here is saying he's destined to be an all-time great, but to question whether or not he can become very good is as good as questioning Rooney before he played at permiership level. You don't question talent, you give the player a go and see how it all turns out. There is every chance that he may well end up being a great player or a crap player, but to judge him as mediocre before he's even played more than a handful of first team games? That's unfair on any player in the world.
