Was that 93-94 Eddie? Leicester knocked us out in the semis...after one of their players handled on the line and no penalty was given :@

They were managed by Brian Little at the time, who later went on to knock us out the play-offs twelve years later with immense negativity in the away leg when he was our manager

I hate football
Around that time - I've tried to blot the painful memories out but they keep flooding back - Oh no, here comes another one.... John Harkes Aaaaaaaaaaarrrrrrrghhhhhhhhhh!!!!!!!! And those awful 'mushroom' seats behind the goal - Noooooooooooooooooooooo!!! Or was that the Anglo-Italian Cup Final? Either way, my bum still hurts (but that's another story).

That playoff final is one of the reasons why that rubbish in the Daily Mirror about Brian Little being a management target for the Rams is demonstrable nonsense - the obnoxious toerag would never be accepted in Derby - and the new board were probably all at the game anyway and despise him as much as I do.

Ronaldo definitely does hold onto the ball too long, but I'm still personally not too unhappy about seeing Ruud go. Regarding the 'dad' comment - ouch. :( Nobody deserves that.

Ha ha ha the Anglo-Italian Final against Cremonese, I was there too. Diving *******s. A good laugh though.
Aye - that was the name. I knew it was something like 'Cream of Celery'.

Souper side.

Didn't Kitson get sent off for finally snapping and lamping one of them? I remember Marco 'falling' in the penalty area just in front of us and some delightful Italian defender (aka 'Thug') trod on his fingers.

The rest fades behind an alcohol-induced haze.

I can't remember loads either due to similar reasons. I do remember a friend and I finishing the Mirror quizword together on the bus down, no mean feat. Also remember we booed them when they got the trophy, might have been the Marco incident, I'm sure they were cheating buggers at any rate as Derby fans are pretty charitable to the opposition ordinarily. My abiding memory though is what a **** heap Wembley was.

Aye - the homely feel to Wembley Way as we crunched our way through the broken glass, under the tunnel with all the bulbs broken and full of tramps and dog poo, wading through the lake-sized puddle festooned with seasonal arrangements of condoms we came face to face with the stadium itself - it truly was a venue 1990's England could be proud of.

Good riddance.

shame that one of the best strikers the premiership has and ever will see goes out in such a terrible way, a senior player like him should really know better when dealing with anyone in the world, let alone a young player who was clearly very upset, poor show ruud, hang your head.

No, Marco Gabbiadini retired a long time ago.

I'd be surprised if Little worked anywhere in the next 12 months, we are all very excited round here that we might get to see attractive football next season, but Ms Rogers will probably ruin that by appointing some long-ball moronic idiotic who knows less about football than I know about rocket science

Of course, we will probably end up with the rocket scientist himself, jason McAteer

"On my credit card application it says position in company, what shall I put, because I'm a midfielder but I've been playing at right-back?"

"Pass the ketchup please Jase," some LFC player
"Red or brown?"

"Would you like your Pizza cut into 4 or 8 slices sir," Pizza parlour worker
"Better make it 4, I doubt I could eat eight."

"One of the lads was ripping it out of Wilson's legs the other day, it was very humourful."

Whoever Derby County get as new manager, believe me, he won't be as intelligent as our likely next player-manager

I'm not ****ing happy about Arsenal going through at all. They don't deserve to be there IMO
They've finished 4th over a 38 game season - since the top 4 go through, then yes, they do deserve it.

He can only be one or the other, there's a big gap.

And by saying that, you're agreeing with my comment anyway!
That's just semantics. You don't know what I mean by that statement. There may well be a big gap but he's very close to closing it. He's already shown he can be Premiership class and a regular run in the side may just prove that.

I bet if you were a Spurs fan you wouldn't be saying that.

We'll probably end up playing Watford, I'm pretty confident either way though.

How's the takeover working for Derby btw?
The club were bought out by the 'League of Gentlemen', a bunch of local squillionaires who have each made a massive investment into the club. All are avid life-long fans of the Rams, which says everything as far as I am concerned. The devils who were collectively known as the '£3 Amigos' (because that's how much they paid for the club) have been run out of town and PC Plod is asking questions now like "How come you morons lost 21 million squids in 2 years and yet you sold all the good players and never paid a cent for anyone?"

The debt had risen from a decidedly unhealthy 31 million to an unreal and unsustainable 52 million, yet Jeremy Keith and his evil cronies were denying anything of the sort - so much so that on the Saturday the takeover finally went through, it was revealed that we were hours from receivership. The bank (who brought the ABC crooks in in the first place) have done the decent thing and taken a hit on some of the outstanding debt and 'parked' a bit, so essentially the club are now on a secure footing.

Now all we need is a manager and a team ;)

Things are being done - when the parasites were in charge, not one penny was spent on maintenance. At least the stadium is getting a lick of paint now.

Personally, I'm thrilled to bits at how things have turned out, and look forward to next season with optimism I haven't felt for a decade and more.

5 words...

Look.... at..... the..... league..... table.

At the end of the day, the season is 38 games in length, and there will be a certain amount of losing on the swings and gaining on the roundabouts - apart from those damned roundabouts in Swindon where I always end up taking the wrong exit and missing the turn for the ground.

I know what the table looks like.

On a brigheter note, GO LEEDS! :D

LEEDS! LEEDS! LEEDS! LEEDS UNITED! :D
It's certainly raised more than the odd smile in the Brumby household.

I've even change my avatar in tribute to that Prince of pasta dishes, the Marriott hotel's lasagne! :p

& they're now asking for the game to be replayed. The good grace we've come to expect from the bitter, whinging tossers. Cry me a river. Why play affected players & leave players like Danny Murphy who wasn't on the bench? I'm enjoying the aftermath more than the result!

Hmm, it isn't over yet, unlikely but Spurs could conceivably win their appeal - especially if they've got a majority of the Premier League Chairmen on their side.
