Nice 5-0 loss to end the season with =/
Finished 16th - which isn't too bad considering we were last for awhile and struggling til Xmas.

Bit of a surprise to see Oxford go down with Rushden, was only two seasons ago they were top of League 2 before some shocking form meant they finished just outside the playoffs.

But a very pleasant one! :D

It's an Oxbridge thing; it's not right they had a league club & we didn't.

Incidentally, are they the first club to have won a major trophy (League Cup early-mid 80s, IIRC, can't be arsed to check) to be relegated from the League? Future trivia question, possibly....

What happen with the plans to merge Cambridge United and their poor cousins City? Was the person/s who suggested it where run out of town, never to return again?

It's a possibility still, unfortunately. City's ground is in a v central location & must be worth a sizeable amount so I dunno how long they'll be allowed to stay there. I presume they don't own it, but could be wrong.

They might end up ground-sharing at the dear old Shabbey & then obviously some corporate tool will argue that "it makes financial sense to merge"....

They don't want it & neither do we, so it's more or less certain. :p

What would they call it, anyway? United Cambridge City?

As i live much closer to Oxford - i'm fully on that side of the Oxbridge thing - and i'm glad i put a bet on Oxford to win the boat race :)

Oxford won the cup in 1986 btw..

I think you may be right - based on this season the only other teams to come close are Notts County (3 points from relegation) and Bury (4 points) who have both won an FA Cup

Chelsea lose, Ruud "goes home", Spurs lose their CL spot and Henry scores a hattrick in Arsenal's last game at Highbury, undoubtedly inspiring a further flurry of debate between various CW'ers and one straw-clutching Scaly piscine.

30 starts, 2 substitute appearances - 27 goals and 11 or 12 assists...
