Not as many :p

The Romanian phenomenon this season is a major one-off - both Steaua and Rapid came through the preliminary rounds - they've played 32 games in Europe between them this season.
In which case I reckon CL points should count double and all points gained should be divided by amount of games played - it's unfair that teams get extra points just by playing more.

Here's an interesting one they just mentioned on 5-Live (listening to Wigan v Brummygits at the moment).

What can a goalkeeper get booked for that an outfield player cannot?

Time wasting?i.e taking too long to kick the ball

Handling outside his penalty area?

Pretty certain outfield players would have their names taken for that too... :p

I'd agree with Roseboy: having the ball for longer than 6 (? I think) seconds before releasing. Refs hardly ever ping them for it tho.

The answer.....

Rolling their sleeves up (believe it or not).

so the referee can be reasonably confident that he knows who's punching/handling the ball in the area (although this implies that the referee isn't blind, of course)

That's a remarkable ruling, I've never heard of that before. It does make sense though I guess, but I can't imagine it ever having been put into practice.

That's insanity of a quite advanced level!

Surely the fact that (as far as I know) 100% of custodians wear gloves would be the give away even for the most myopic refs?!?

Actually, now I think of it, doesn't Bartez play in short sleeves anyhow?

Yes he does - and that was a point made by the other 5-Live commentator yesterday (I think they were discussing it at length, and put it down to a recent nonsense ruling by football's answer to Richard, Sepp Blatter).

Well the CDMs getting all the luck at the moment, that was one of the most blatant handballs I've ever seen (and the ref had a pretty good view of it too).

That's an infringement, but It's not a cautionable offence in itself.
