Ballack rumoured to go to Chelsea, now Lampard rumoured to be thinking of going elsewhere, apparently options include Barcelona. I can't see Chelsea giving up Lampard for Ballack, personally. I'd imagine it will be a case of either they get Ballack or Lampard's opinion on the matter will have more influence than anything else.

That wasn't just because he was available though - it was to stop Arsenal getting him, and because they only had 3 wingers instead of 4. Still slightly frivolous, but Ballack would just be superfluous money-spending.Neil Pickup said:

I'm surprised that Marc is using Horseface and Roberts as his argument, when other Championship clubs have spent a million on a striker before and one being sold (to another Championship side) helped fund the other.
I'd have expected the Ellington one. Division 2 (as it were then) club spending £1million on a striker without the best record you could think up whilst at Bristol Rovers...

How many bottom division sides can spend over £1m on players in a season?
How many can then continue to spend a lot of money in League 1 (one season over £3.5m)

I've conceded that money got them out of the lower divisions (League 1 and below I'm talking here).marc71178 said:

He won't stay at Bayern because if he was he would have re-signed. As for Italy I would love to come to Inter to replace Veron who is apparently leaving at the end of the season (going back to Argentina) but there are two problems: 1) He is European; and b) He isn't Argentinian so therefore he doesn't speak Spanish.
