2020: SENDING-OFF Chelsea will play the last 55 minutes a man down after Assier Del Horno is controversially sent off. The defender is hashly red-carded after a badly timed lunge on Lionel Messi.
Was it harsh?

was a booking imo.

Messy was about to get up looked at the ref and decided he'd roll around on the floor. Mind you Del Horno himself decided to have a little roll around to try and stop the ref sending him off.

Norwayan ref is coming in for some stick though

great OG

They are all indeed all Scottish. Let's face it. No English are going to get anywhere near even a bronze at this olympics.

...Ignore that Rudman lass. She's an anomaly

Argh. Chelsea are as good as gone I reckon - I'd be highly surprised if they can go to the Nou Camp and win by enough to overcome the away goals.

It's wouldn't take that much of a comeback, they need to score 2 goals at least (obviously). But it's not disastrous. Any win bar 1-0 and 2-1 puts them through, 2-1 is extra time.

I'm expecting Barca to score at least once, considering it's their home ground.

It can be done, but it'd be damn hard.

EDIT: I didn't see it, but if it is true the sending-off was harsh, Chelsea were immensely unlucky.

That incident was dis-gracefull.

It was nothing,i would have been carefull giving it a booking.

Both players rolled around in fake agony, making me wish i could give them something to scream about, then the barca players crowded round the pathetic excuse for a refferee and del horno got sent of.pathetic.

Absolutely right... I honestly didnt even think he was going to get booked.

It actually looked in slomo as though the Chelski defender was trying to pull out of the challenge once he realised his wild hack at the ball had missed by the width of the Thames.

I'd only been praising Messi to Mrs LE about how refreshing it was to see an Argentinian player who doesn't roll around in an attempt to get players sent off about 2 minutes before. Really out of character, IMO.

it was the slo mo afterwards that showed him turn round, look at the ref and then decide to roll over a few times that did it for me

In slight defence to the ref, Del Horno had just gone through Messi about 2 minutes before (high foot, got the ball, then straight into his knee), so i could understand a booking because really he should've been booked for the 1st one.

Messi was plain cheating though, he actually jumped into the tackle to make it worse, then rolled around.

I'm guessing the linesman has a HUGE nose, too big to see whats under it. Because the fact he didnt tell the ref as it was is shocking....

Mourinho though really does deserve a slap, anyone else here his rant in the post match interview with sky? Spoilt Child.

Still, as a Man Utd fan, it was good to see them lose......

Bitter, moi?????
