WOW I could not have been more wrong. I happily eat my words. Henry did it with a beautiful run and the young lions stood up in defense for Arsenal. You could just tell it wasn't gonna happen for Real. Big advantage to them now.

Liverpool lost but that's nothing to panick about. Same with PSV.

Raul is mediocre as well?

You really don't know much about football do you?

If the only reason is because they've played so many games, how come no other strikers who've also played so many aren't up there then?
Because Ronaldo has usually been fat or injured or both.

Raul doesn't even manage a goal every two games for Real Madrid. His record for Spain is nothing special considering they mostly thrash the crap teams in qualifying then get knocked out early in the main event. He has no brilliant ability in any area so he is mediocre. Just a solid performer for an erratic club side and a underachieving international side and nothing more than that. About the same sort of level as Michael Owen.

I have to agree with young Scaly here.

Raul is not a world-class striker, and as such he shouldn't be mentioned with Ronaldinho, Shevchenko etc. Just because he's a folk hero at Real doesn't make him a great.

Good enough to play for most national sides (including England) but not enough to warrant the respect he gets.

Yep it is true.

He's got 51, Ruud is next with 43 if you don't include Qualifying goals. If you do then Shevchenko is also on 51 because he has 10 in Qualifiers.

While he has been very good in the past, he's been playing top-flight football for over a decade.

Admittedly Ronaldinho is in a league of his own, and Raul does not compare.

Hopefully he will put on a show tonight.

Meh there was a short period where Raul was one of the ten best footy players on earth... he aint close now.

For forwards better than Raul... without thinking the following are easy:

Shevchenko
Henry
Eto'o
Rooney
Van Nistlerooy
Adriano
Makaay
Ronaldo
Drogba
Del Piero

That is, of course, off the top of my head. Once great, but not one of the best today.

Yeah but he is strong, good in the air and scores goals. Crouch cant buy a goal these days and is so weak its laughable.
