he's really peeing me off now, saying that Henry's goal could become an 'iconic' goal. I mean i know its real madrid like and it was a decent goal but its the first leg of the last 16 not the blummin final

Arsenal were awesome. So impressed by Fabregas.. cant believe he is younger than me!
Saw him play live for Arsenal Under-18s when he was 16, before his first-team debut, and he was unbelievable. The kid is going all the way, believe me - there's a reason why Spanish pundits say he could become the greatest player their country's ever produced. He was simply outstanding tonight.

fantastic win by arsenal earlier tonigh in madrid i would have never expected it since they were missing some many key defenders.

BTW does anyone know where i could get the CL schedule?

There are 3 players with more goals at least, and that's only since 1988, not sure about in history, but I presume players like Di Stefano will have more.

So, by your logic, Ruud is a better striker than Henry? I never thought I'd hear that.
All I've said is if he's such a flop in Europe how does he have the record he does?

To be fair scoring the winning goal at the Bernabau, is possibly Arsenals greatest European triumph, the only English team to win there in history, I think. It was also a brilliant goal.

The only thing that brightened up my miserable footie night anyway8-)

Say what?

As for Henry scoring so many in Europe, that's because he plays so many games and he's the only forward the CDMs have had for a long time - playing so many games is also why someone mediocre like Raul is top.

It's up there. Two arguably greater for me:

- us winning 1-0 against Juventus in Turin in the semi of the 1980 Cup Winners' Cup with a last minute goal from the late Paul Vaessen; we'd drawn 1-1 @ Highbury so away goals would've taken us out.

-another 1-0 victory v Parma in the final of the 1994 CWC final.

Us beating Sampdoria in the 1995 CWC semi on pens is another great memory, but I cherish the result rather than the performance. :)

Raul is mediocre as well?

You really don't know much about football do you?

If the only reason is because they've played so many games, how come no other strikers who've also played so many aren't up there then?

As far as I'm aware Arsenal are still situated in England, I still consider Exeter city to be my club even if its full of you yucky "others", despites my natural inclination to shout UNCLEAN, and wash myself with scrumped apple juice to cleanse myself whenever I spy a grockle, mind you I'm probably still less parochial then you 8-)

It might not have missed my mark had I known what the bloody hell a grockle, along with half the other words in there, is.

um, too scrump means to steal apples, grockle, means tourist or anyone outside of Devon really. It was in vernacular, I was trying to point out a less then cosmopolitan view of the world, perhaps favoured by other users.

At this point I feel a retreat to bed, or bade coming on.
