I think Real is one of the few European teams left in the Champions League that CDMs' chief poseur could do well against - especially when Real are at home and leave plenty of space at the back. Anyway I presume Benfica v Liverpool will be on ITV3 or whichever one they use, so I'll probably watch that whilst hoping that the CDMs get stuffed.

So who do you think will win the Champions League sledger?

I know it's a long way to go but lets just say based on recent form. I spose everybody's gonna say Chelsea, Barca or Juvi... which is fair enough. But who's to say Liverpool can't fluke it again. There's always a dark horse that has a chance. Porto and Liverpool I didn't see coming. Maybe it's just last season rubbing off... but I have faith in Liverpool's chances.

Lets do the prediction thing:

Bayern - Milan Preview
Oh baby this will be great. Milan are in a bit of a rough patch and losing to Inter a few weeks back hurts... but they have the talent to be a big match team that can perform any night. I'd take Shevy over Makaay anyday of the week, Nesta over any defender in Bayern and Kaka, when motivated, is brilliance. Maybe it's because they're my favorite Italian club and I have a Maldini jersey coming to my house in a few weeks... but it's AC Milan for me. What they did against Inter is sort of an indication (howler aside) that they can play too tight for some teams. The old idea that Italians do defense best does it for me. Make no mistake, it's one of the big three.

Benfica - Liverpool
Like I said, I have faith in Liverpool's chances... can't stand 'em... but I have faith.

Real Madrid - Arsenal
Like I said, I wont be suprised either way. Two giants that aren't performing... but Arsenal have the bigger reason to lose.

PSV - Lyon Preview
Like Liverpool, I have faith in PSV, again I don't know if it's last seasons efforts... maybe it's the fact that Hiddink has them competing in the Dutch League after losing Van Bommell, Lee and Park.

Chelsea - Barcelona
Toss up really. Barca were in such a purple patch before Ronnie gets red carded and they lose the game the next week. They beat Betis 5-1 so I have no reason to think they've lacked form. Chelsea drew blood from last year though. I honestly have no idea. I'll say Barca... just for the sake of picking a team. Wont suprise me if Chelsea win though... if they lose, there's always next draft.

Rangers - Villarreal
The underdog match I'll be most interested in. It's be nice to see Rangers get up... but I don't believe too many miracles are posible. Villa will win.

Bremen - Juventus
Juvi's gonna win this thing, I tell ya. On a side note, man did Viera slip into that team easily?

Ajax - Internazionale
This could be very very interesting... well it's not a big franchise match, but it'll be close. Ajax I'll say.

Henry can do it in Europe... no question. Can his team mates do it for Henry?

The Premiership, this year, has seen Arsenal try and get the ball to him so much, but one man can't carry a team. There a bit too obvious and only one major threat up front doesn't look good. Having Viera as an attacking midfielder gave teams more to think about and he was like Cantana/Giigs with Henry. Two guys just blending together perfectly.

It's almost like in basketball - The Lakers lose Shaq and now they keep looking for Kobe to win them a championship and it can't happen. Arsenal lose Viera and Henry is stranded. If I were him I'd try to get into Barca next season... stocked as they are though.

Except CDMs' chief poseur flopped in europe when Vieira was there as well. He's also fairly impotent when he plays for France and they have plenty of attacking options.

I am really irritated I will not be able to watch Barca vs Chelsea. This is what I am missing most of having just a disturbed Ten Sports and not other sports channels at the hotel here.

Also, no Wembley FA Cup final. Thoughts people on it?

Not a surprise to be honest.. Millenium stadium is more than capable, and its pretty neutral with the nearest premiership club 100+kms away..

Yep, Wembley is the biggest ongoing farce at the moment, excluding governments of course.

I walked past Gary Neville in town today, he was with some guy who was carrying some files.

I got home and found out via sky news it was his hearing today about his incitement thing, must have been his solicitor he was with.

My only change up there would be Barcelona over Chelsea

So much so that all but 2 other players in history are also flops.
There are 3 players with more goals at least, and that's only since 1988, not sure about in history, but I presume players like Di Stefano will have more.

So, by your logic, Ruud is a better striker than Henry? I never thought I'd hear that.
