Tom Halsey
International Coach
We're playing truly *****.
Difficult to tell which one is the Conference side on play at the moment - Brewers certainly shaded the first half.Tom Halsey said:Bog off back to West Brom, Richardson.
I can't believe how bad we've been.
Manchester United?roseboy64 said:Entirely understandable the state of play considering who's on the pitch.
Rubbish.Neil Pickup said:Howard, Brown, Silvestre, O'Shea, Richardson, Saha and Rooney aren't.
Doesn't make them reserves. We have a squad of twenty plus, but no reserve team. They're squad players, not reserves.Tom Halsey said:Rubbish.
van der Saar is our goalkeeper. Brown is feeling his way back from injury and has only played a few matches of late. Silvestre, O'Shea fair enough. Richardson is in no way, shape, or form in our 1st XI. Saha is, similarly to Brown, just coming back from injury. If all went to plan, Rooney wouldn't have played. He's a sub.
No, they're not used in our squad in any way (not in a squad rotation system or anything) - therefore they're reserves. Just because they've not played for a team called 'Manchester United Reserves' doesn't make them not reserves in effect.Neil Pickup said:Doesn't make them reserves. Well, perhaps your reserves ought to apply to play in the Conference. Come to think of it, better not. Some of your fringe first-teamers might struggle at that level.Tom Halsey said:Don't think he disputed that, but it doesn't alter anything, it's still our reserve side, whether they're Internationals or not.
Rooney had absolutely no impact on the match today (I thought he was quite disappointing).luckyeddie said:Until Rooney was brought on, United were definitely second-best today.
Weren't some people involved with Man Utd saying the other week that Rossi was "the most gifted natural striker they had seen in years"?Neil Pickup said:Pique, Bardsley, Jones and Rossi are reserves.
Howard, Brown, Silvestre, O'Shea, Richardson, Saha and Rooney aren't.
The problem I have is that he's not giving Albion any credit.
