Ah. I think you might have missed the great England ODI team debate.

Richard vs TEC Quote Wars Episode VIII - Is Ealham Any Good?
Ah, it makes much more sense now. :D

I thought it was a reference to Richard's refusal to acknowledge that anyone born after 1950 is any good, hence the Compton reference. Forget it.

And for the record, Ealham is definitely rubbish, right? Just checking there hasn't been a massive turnaround in opinion on here since then! :D

Quite brilliant effort from Derbyshire today, and that hasn't been said for years. Ant Botha smacked a big hundred, Nick Walker slogged a 70, and they lead Yorkshire by 206 with one wicket still left, and all three results possible after looking dead and buried. I'm going to see them at Taunton on Wednesday (would see the 1 day match but I have to go to uni) and I hope they give Luke Sutton the win he deserves before he leaves.

Yorkshire 81 for 5, too, and Mark Lawson has gone from number three batsman to leg-spin tail-ender in the space of one match.

Go Derbyshire!

You going on Sunday? Can't make the FC game, but I'm going to do my darndest to make the ODer, 'cause it's the last of the season, isn't it?

Interesting game at Edgbaston. Bell scoring 137 off 105 balls with 7, yes 7 sixes. Troughton then scores 34* off 13 balls.

I used to love that toboggan thing they had there, and the waterslides and bumper boats.. Haven't been for nigh on ten years now though.

Once Bell finds out he doesn't have to worry about reading the slider he'll be so elated he'll smash a 40-ball century. :D
Looks like I wasn't too far off! :D

I'm very surprised at the 7 sixes though - Michael Vaughan seemed to find it so funny when he hit McGrath for 6 at Old Trafford (coupled with the fact that when he was batting against Bangladesh he had a bet with the rest of the team that he could hit a six) I thought he had extreme difficulty hitting the big ones - he is a midget, after all. And he looks about 10 years old.

In the light of this innings, anyone else want to join the IBAS? :p
