yeah im really surprised that they collapsed, its usually a complete road - we'll take the win though, especially since Essex lost and Durham and Yorkshi*e drew, it sets us up well, if we take the last wicket of course
yep :D

Ian Blackwell smashed another half a dozen sixes today, 88 off 53 for him. He is in remarkably good form for a slogger. Hope Fletcher's at least paying attention.

Problem is, who would he replace? i.e., what would the team be? Perhaps:

Trescothick
Strauss
Vaughan
Pietersen
Flintoff
Blackwell
Collingwood
G Jones
Giles
Harmison
S Jones

You'd keep Goughie? He was shocking this summer, and there's a case for the extra spinner in Pakistan and India. Gilo needs to stay IMHO.

i wouldn't keep him but ya never know what the selectors will do but thinking about it yea Blackwell & Gilo could play together with Harmy & Jones opening, Freddie 1st change & u have Colly's seamers along with Gilo & Blackie spinning it so their is blackwell's place

I think Alex Loudon might get a call-up for the tour squad. He bats, bowls attacking offspin and apparently has a doosra.

If he does have a doosra, he doesn't bowl it very well - FC bowling average of over 40.

I saw him in a match on sky and apparently (I wasn't watching at the time) he bowled one, but he's only just developed it to the point where he bowls it in a match. Even without the Doosra he bowled an attacking line, and he was Warks top scorer too. He's a total toff, head boy at Eton, full name Alexander Guy Rushworth Loudon (his brother is called Hugo), parents with literal millions, but he is a good player.
