The next round of county championship games start tomorow with

Kent v Middlesex, Canterbury
Surrey v Hampshire, The Brit Oval

Essex v Somerset, Colchester
Leicestershire v Northamptonshire, Grace Road
Yorkshire v Durham, Scarborough

Important games in division 1 if hampshire can beat surrey then they are probably safe from relegation and can look towards an outsdie shot of winning the championship, if they lose and middlesex get something agaisnt kent they could be in a spot of bother. Kent will be looking too return too the top of the table with a win of middlesex.

Top of the table clash in div 2 aswell with the winner of durham and yorkshire looking very good for promotion especialy if it is durham that win

There were also numerous incidents involving inebriated crowd members and the Somerset mascot, Stumpy the......big purple thing, I guess. There were three guys randomly dressed up as Elvis, too - one of them gave the mascot a great big kiss. Unfortunately the guy who lit up a fag on the outfield wasn't dressed as Elvis, but I get the feeling that would have been a little too weird.
I gave Stumpy a big hug

Surprisingly Chris Gayle doing well on his debut. I wonder how he'll do in FC. Hopefully these stints will make him and Sarwan more responsible and better batsmen.

Why is it a surprise that the 2nd best ODI all rounder makes a success of his first OD game for Worcestershire?

He's been 2nd best for a long time actually - since Kallis' bowling went down the pan, him and Flintoff have been the main men.

The Zimbabwe of county cricket. Haven't won a match in three years and everyone leaves :p
I support Zimbabwe. That's why I support Derbyshire, I like the underdogs.

Who will replace him? I'm guessing Di Venuto or Welch as Captain (probably Di Venuto) and a II XI county keeper.
