Whereas the times this morning confirmed that Essex's first innings was indeed the highest ever losing first innings score in County Cricket

Can't believed this has not been mentioned...but...

WE ARE THE CHAMPIONS......WEEEEEEEEEE ARE THE CHAMPIONS....NO TIME FOR LOSERS, CAUSE WE ARE THE CHAMPIONS.....OF THE WOOOOOOOOOORLD.

*Note* Warwickshire are not Champions of the World, they are in actual fact the County Champions - making them the best side of the 2004 season in the four day game.

Well, I never thought I'd say this, nor want to, but Middlesex have helped us out. We owe the *******s nothing though... :p

Jealous eh?! :)

Don't worry...you've still got your lovely County Championship Division Two title to go for next season... :p

HAHA that Funny neil hey Solanki has not done bad as he????
But by the same token he's not been brilliant.

100 runs @ 33 does at least improve the average though.

That's now 4 goodish scores in 24 games - wow!

Very nice victory tonight secures First Division cricket at Chelmsford next year.
Yes, wasn't it so nice of Glamorgan to play such a weak side and thus mean Kent and Warwickshire are relegated?

So, you're a gloryhunter then?
A load of pish - I live close enough to Birmingham not to be called a Brummie. I've supported The Bears for a number of years and to be called a gloryhunter offends me.

They did it against Kent and Warwickshire too, at the end - short memory there.

Anyway, on paper, we are a First Division side anyway...

A little bit. :p

If we hit our straps, we should romp Div 2 IMO - we are a blatant First Division side.
