Hi, I see that Ronnie Irani and james Foster seem to be batting quite well in their current match with Glamorgan, and they might be looking for recalls to the national side, however i am not sure who they would likely replace, and that Irani has not been consistant when playing for England.
Yeah, but to be fair they were helped by a flat pitch and pretty awful fielding and bowling (Croft aside). Irani has been class though since he stopped bowling, he's been able to dedicate all his time to batting - and it shows.

My prediction is draw, it's so flat...

Irani has retired from bowling due to a cronic knee injury..and he's not a good enough batsmen / fielder to get even close to a 2nd XI England side let alone the main one. Foster has potential...and i cant see why he cant be given another chance with England considering Read is on his 3rd chance already.
His batting is good wnough I think - but age is against him.

Third first class fifty this season for Chris Schofield today.

How long can England ignore someone averaging about 53 with the bat this season for?
Doesn't put anywhere near enough work in.

The area outside the Leeds Train Station McDonald's?

Highest hot chick density area this side of the Centurion Park grass bank....

Mate why do that? If people have something to say, then they would just find the thread and post. Unnecessary.

You're not seriously suggesting that Ronnie Irani ever has been or ever will be good enough for International cricket as a batsman alone are you?!
Indeed I am.

Have a look at the stats - he's been near the top of the County averages for a few years in a row now. On top of that, he's a thoroughly good team man, unlike Chris 'Tuffers' Schofield...

First, he's not a 'thouroughly good team man', he's well known for being the most irritating person in any dressing room he's been in.

He also hasn't been at the top of the average for a few years in a row - unless last years average of 25 in FC and 25.46 in List A is suddenly being at the top of the averages - he had good in years in 2000, 2002 and this year - but even then he hasn't passed 1000 runs in the season since 2000 and he used to do it every year before that so i dont see how he has improved in that respect. In 2001 he averaged 29.

Chris Schofield isn't a test batsman( though he does have a test match 50) but neither is Irani by any stretch of the imagination

Nobody else says he is. I've probably posted about 20 posts saying he is, so it's all my fault.

Pure rubbish, he's a good bloke, and they wouldn't appoint a 'Tuffers' as captain.

Also, he didn't average 25 in FC last year, it was 31.4, not great, but everyone has crap years occasionally. That aside, last 3 years, he's batted really well. You can't smash Croft the way he did on Thursday and be naff.

One thing Essex do need to do is to remove Ravi Bopara from the side. Sure he's talented, but he's been playing crap lately. I know he's not a regular, but he shouldn't even be near it...
