Yeah well, as it usually keeps a promising English youngster from playing, long may it continue! If your taking that attitude..
Give it ten years and we will see where England are, without any cricket exposure on free to air, so a Kolpak crazed county system can get their money's worth and all the half rate foreigners can come and have a game of bat and ball with each other...
As opposed to a first-class system where the English talents get to face such great players as Liam Plunkett, Graham Onions, Ian Pattison, Mark Davies, Gareth Breese and Graeme Bridge...really good preparation for international cricket, that...

Oi, Durham also produced possibly the best fielder and the best bowler in the World for others to play against.

Gareth Breese is the same as Pietersen, Spearman etc isn't he?

Pattison has left

Davies took 50 wickets @18.76 last year - not too shabby

Liam Plunkett is supposed to be an England talent :p, hes only 19, averageing 25 with the bat and 31 with ball isnt to shabby (its not great either)

Bridge is pooh, Onions is worse

So let the games begin, Side for England much as expected, apart from Sky expect Jones to open and Bell to bat 6, seems strange since Bells opened in Zim and the other day.

For SA, no De Villiers.

Vaughan won the toss yay!

As proved by Harmy's spectacular figures in South Africa...

Yes, and we all know the standard of division 2 batsmen...

Ah well, 55 for 5, reasonably pleasing. Is Kabir bowling as well as his figures suggest?

From what I've seen it looks like it was a good toss to win. There isn't massive seam movement, but Hoggard & (especially) Kabir Ali have been pitching it up to give the ball a chance.

Kallis being strangled out down the leg-side was a bonus too!

West Indies had Australia wrapped up but then the rain saved them, too early to affect this result? unknown.
