according to his newspaper column,Giles will mis the ODIs with a hip operation.
Well, if they were planning on playing two spinners for the ODIs, they're gonna need a replacement. Hopefully it won't be Loudon. I would think this means Plunkett is virtually sure to get a game at some point, now.

Because I think he's rubbish.
Right, nice and specific I see...

Although being a Warwickshire supporter may influence my decision, I think that Loudon is a very fine bowler. He has a wonderful doosra and terrific flight, allied with good accuracy and a decent amount of turn, and I think these dusty conditions will aid him more than a seam bowler than Liam Plunkett, another player I rate highly.

If I had any folding money and I was a gambling man, I would put it on a victory for England over the following days.

I have not, nor am I.

If you want something a little more specific, it's because I don't think he's shown enough at county level to be relied upon at international level as of yet. By all means bring him along for the experience, but to be honest, right now he'd only be bits-and-pieces at international level, rather than a proper all-rounder. You've only got to look at the fact that Vaughan only bowled him for four overs in the warm-up game he did play to see that the England establishment don't see him as being international quality as of yet - neither do I, and I think it's going to take another couple of years of consistent wicket-taking in county cricket for him to be worthy of an international debut. Right now, he could turn out to be another Giles, or another Batty. I'm leaning towards Batty from what I've seen.

I'd rather Loudon play than Udal

I don't care which one plays - as long as it IS only one. Anderson or Plunkett, please.
hats off to that man!!! Tis what i whole heartedly think an all. Side is unbalanced as it is, i have a feeling though that one will get dropped for the addition of Vaughan. 8-)

I definately think Anderson has been given a rough deal as far as ODIs are concerned.

I can understanding his shunning from the test side, as his performances were very uninspiring, but he has always maintained fairly good ODI form mixed in with the occassional showing of brilliance.

I certainly wouldnt be playing two spinners if Giles wasnt fit.
