I was actually defending him, saying that while his test dumping may have been justified, there is no way he should have ever been dropped from the ODI side.tomas19281 said:he's a young lad that was picked from club cricket and thrown in the test arena. He did bloody well in my opinion. And has showed true potential to become a cracking player for us. Uninspiring performances is very harsh dude When he exploded on the scene the whole cricketing community when berzerk!!! Hence why he lost some of his edge methinks from the added pressure.

Pakistan selectors keep on encouraging and picking up dodgy bowlers. In past it use to be Junaid Zia and Riaz Afridi, and now they have chuckers in Shabbir and Malik in the team.
I think its not enough to just ban a bowler from participating in further matches, a team that has been found playing with chucker should be punished.I recommend the following measures,
--- The result of the match should be reversed in the favor of team that was the victim of chuckers.
--- If a country continue to pick chuckers for test matches every now and then then the ICC should take measures and should appoint an Independent selection committe (either the selectors being from different countries or from neighbouring country) that will make sure that the team doesn't go into test matches with chuckers.
Well if you can have an Englishman as a coach, then whats the harm in having Indian as your selector??Armadillo said:Hold on, are you suggesting that India pick Pakistan's team!!
Any bowler who has his sleeves buttoned down is unsure of his own action, so why should anyone else be sure?Mecnun said:What's your view on Harbijan Singh then, does he chuck or ever has chucked??
Malik is being picked as a specialist though. The selectors believe he is the best player available for that opening position on his batting alone.nehrafan said:Considering Pak has a long tail, what was the point of playing the match with just 4 specialist batters ???
Pak should have played Asim at number six and Afridi at number seven, packing the side with bowlers and allrounders at the expence of specialist batsmen is plain stupid.
Seeing as the pair at the wicket have shared 8 century partnerships in the past, I think we can take it as read that Pakistan have at least 5 worthy of the name 'batsman'.nehrafan said:Considering Pak has a long tail, what was the point of playing the match with just 4 specialist batters ???

I think Asim Kamal should have played instead of Afridi.
The only problem with these are that none of them are known for playing long innings. If Pakistan are to get to a total of 300, then Inzi and Yousuf will have to score most of the runs.Neil Pickup said:. Afridi, Akmal and Rana are all useful - I think 300-320 is around par from here.
I think he was discluding Malik from his list of batsmen.luckyeddie said:Seeing as the pair at the wicket have shared 8 century partnerships in the past, I think we can take it as read that Pakistan have at least 5 worthy of the name 'batsman'.
Maybe he adds another string to Pakistan's bow, but I doubt he has the application to score highly for his team when they really need him. I think Kamal would've been a wiser choice.wahindiawah said:Afridi can be of a great use with the ball , especially in the second innings.I don' think plying him will be Pak's mistake.

Rubbish. You won't see him bowl again, therefore he is being played as a specialist batsman..nehrafan said:Malik is not a specialist batsman, he's an allrounder who is being tried as an opener in this test series.
