***Official*** England in India

Whatever it takes!!!
BTW, I don't think England would have done THIS well if Tresco and Vaughan had been here. ;) :D

Kidding, but I seriously think that Colly has played MUCH better than Vaughan would have done, based on recent form, and I think Jones did almost as well as Tresco could have done.

I was really enjoying Harmy's innings, quite dissapointed with hist dismissal - was a great ball in the end but everyone could see it coming. Panesar done well despite a couple of close LBW shouts

It has been the regulars who have failed with the bat, though. None of Strauss, Bell, Pietersen, Flintoff or Jones passed fifty. I have a feeling that Collingwood may now be considered a "regular" though after that innings.
but atleast the impact of missing both those players has reduced, or maybe even negated.

honestly, dude, I can't think of any slipper in the world who would have caught that. Although I do remember Strauss taking a stunner at second slip during the Ashes, but it was THAT tough.
he was standing in an odd position, besides he was a little shoddy in the first day as well. atleast by his standards, being a good slipper that he is.

yep, that is the thing. Had he been in the normal first slip position, he would have (at least, he should have) gobbled it up. But he was standing at a 1 and a 3/4 slip. Was very tough from there. I honestly think it barely even qualifies as a chance.

Just got up - wow! What a miraculous tailend fightback, and a fantastic hundred from Colly. Panesar even hit a four just now. :D

And this Indian team will beat Australia - who cannot even get Panesar and Harmison out !! And Collingwood gets his first test hundred. England closing in on 400 without Vaughn and Tresco...
Laxman is too old and sloppy to field. Irfan is bowling like a slow bowler. Harbhajan - God kknows what kind of wickets he needs to actually be among the wickets.
Time to blood Piysuh and Suresh Raina. Drop Laxman and Harbhajan for starters...
PATEHTIC....

State 12th Man
And Pathan was compaining that the cirticsim of his lack of pace is 'too much - the limit'....
He can't even polish off the tail....mark my words - he will go as did Zaheer - too big for his boots already...a pity

Good proper Test Cricket.
I thought Day 1 was a crap day of test cricket generally regardless of the scoring rate which brings back memories of the 90s. Stupid bowling to an extent and more stupid batting.

i reckon the days where india play 4 main bowlers at home are outnumbered.

But anyway hopefully Harmy can Sehwag back soon.

finally ... that was ridiculous, but splendid batting from collingwood

cant jump to conclusions after just one innings, but as of now ...
for the next match, bring in chawla for harbhajan/kumble, bring in a third seamer in vrv

Yes like the current test match wkts which is sooooooooo much pacer friendly.

Flintoff actually thought that he was playing at Lords when he saw the pitch at the toss yesterday!!
Which is one of the most helpful grounds...

Wow... in the end England end up getting 100 more runs than expected at one point.

This match is now going to be interesting.Colly and tail really put up a brave effort.

he's not a crap bowler ... he's not proven against non-minnows ... and right now, he's helping india win games
So apart from Zimbabwe and Bangladesh, when has his bowling helped India win a game?
