Whatever it takes!!!
I hope Sreesanth can maintain his form and fitness better than the other new INdian bowlers have done in the recent past. Reminds me of what Nasser Hussain talked about on Straight Drive with Manjrekar and Imran Khan during the Ind Vs Pak series.

Don't worry about his fitness. He's a fiery breakdancer.

to nick knights technique?
Yep.

Dissapointed with Pietersen, it seemed like he was in against the spinners but the change of pace just unsettled him.

Could be the same thing that happened to Anderson, bursts onto the scene bowing fast swing having played little cricket, but a few years of hard test cricket does take its toll on a young cricketers and the pace soon drops.
When did Anderson have the few years of hard Test Cricket then?!

kumble needs to vary his pace against Pietersen a lot more. infact the slower(with flight) he bowls the better. Pietersens technique of playing with bat in front of pad is always going to make him somewhat more susceptible to the slower deliveries.
Interesting point.

No matter how many players you see with different techniques before and after they've hit the ball, the vast majority of top players look the same at impact - head in line, contact underneath the eyes, etc.

Whilst there are always exceptions to the rule because of sheer individual talent, they are few and far between.

Maybe KP is one (hopefully so because he's great to watch), but it's a big handicap to overcome.

Okay, Jono, you win. Pathan is an all-rounder. He can't bowl either.

Ahh, there's his slowie. 66.
Lol. Well I'm glad you said that because you saying he couldn't bat resulted in him putting a string of scores together.

At the least, all he'll have to do is get the ball to the otherside of the pitch (nevermind the pace) to Strauss, Pietersen and Geraint Jones, and let them throw their wicket away for him.

im really enjoying this shree santh spell. not just because of the fact that he has so much talent(or the fact that i said he has plenty of potential much before this series started), but because hes bowling with an incredible amount of common sense and also varied his deliveries extremely well(and bowled from different positions from the crease). after the rubbish fast bowlers that have come and gone after srinath, it looks like India might have finally found someone who looks like he might go on to become something special.

Pietersen should learn from our debutant...
.. you don't get the impression he's very interested in learning from anyone. Not exactly the 1st time he's given it away. He & Strauss don't appear to have learnt a thing from their Pakistan experience, which is disappointing.

Pathan brought in. Shouldn't it read medium slow instead of medium fast?

I expect him to take a one or two wickets with this older ball despite 4 off first two balls.

gah just when i was quite enjoying shree sanths spell, he gets replaced with pathan who releases all the pressure by bowling complete rubbish.

and yet its precisely the same pace he bowled in pakistan and for a vast majority of his career.
well i realised in PAK he was bowling in this pace but when he debuted in australia & during the 1st india/pak series in 2004 he was bowling 85mph & up..

to be fair to Pietersen he applied himself today, batted sensibly for most of it. it was a fine spell of bowling from shree santh that really got to him in the end, and the ball that got him out should really have been put away. it is however important to note the buildup to that delivery, because that is what did him in. putting a fielder out for the pull, and then pitching the ball up and swinging it both ways had pietersen in a knot. when the bad ball came he went after it in a desperate attempt to try and get on top of the bowler and got himself out.

Warned twice for running on the wicket - probably change ends.
