***Official*** England in India

I just came back from uni and a job interview, I heard from my dad that England were 0-50 after 10 overs. Watching now with England 102-2, Cook on 49. Looks like he's played well.

i dont see england getting that far. i predict the same middle order collapse that we saw in the first test at mohali, the last time england toured india.
a bit harsh but a fair prediction i'd say..

Kumble-Raju-Chauhan when we toured in 1993.

Kumble-Chauhan-Kulkarni when Sri Lanka racked up 952-6.

Kumble-Harbhajan-Kartik on the Mumbai Minefield 16 months ago
India dropped Pathan and played Kumble, Harbhajan, Kartik and Zaheer against SA in the 1st test, after the Mumbai test against Australia.

Like to nod off when watching cricket do you?

I guess it's reassuring to know that someone who was the worst England captain in history can make plenty of money in the world giving his 'expertise' and generally contradicting everything he'd done as captain when he commentates on an England game.
I actually agree with you. I thought it was IMPOSSIBLE for Athers to be as boring as a commentator as he was as a batter. But I was wrong. Bob Willis and Atherton, now that is THE pair if you are an insomniac and want to stop being that.

more importantly however hes played with a brain, something that england lacked in pakistan. his technique at least so far shows a bizarre resemblance to stephen fleming's - plays with a very straight bat, but hes looked very edgy against the spinners.
on a side note, kumble really has bowled the wrong lines and lengths thus far today, harbhajan meanwhile has been quite brilliant.

his technique looks decent, its hardly a test in such flat conditions anyways. more importantly however, whether a message was sent out to him or not, it appears as though hes looking far more comfortable now against harbhajan and kumble and hes starting to get on the front foot fairly often. that shows a very good understanding of the game.
Just been compared to Nick Knight.

yep.. I don't think England are missing Tresco so much here, because Cook is doing what we could have expected Tresco to do. Strauss has to sort his game out though. So much for the "most promising recent opener"...

by whom? and off whom?
Laxman dropped it at 2nd slip off Sreesanth, but nevermind now Sreesanth just got him to chop on.

What an over! He was swinging it both ways. beautiful in swinging yorkers, outswingers just short of a good length. Lovely stuff.

Pathan should learn from the debutant ...
