What a series from England, fantastic stuff. Remarkable result. :D :D :D

Flintoff streets ahead of anyone else for Man of the Series IMO - good batting, fantastic bowling and outstanding captaincy.

An immeasurable number of pluses from this series for England - as far as I'm concerned, the world Test rankings now go:

1. Australia
2=Pakistan
2=England
3. India

And that'll do me fine. :)
I would have England in 2nd considering the last 2 1/2 years. If Pakistan win in England I'll change my mind.

The Indian batting has been pathetic in the series so why should we have expected better.

Dravid 61.8 and Jaffer 41.7 are the only batsmen (playing in this match who have any respectability to their series stats. AND they were facing law of averages besides a last day wicket and a disciplined English attack.

Sachin, Yuvraj, Sehwag and Dhoni average between 19.0 and 21.3 (what a narrow band) for the series. I am not surprised one bit. Dissappointed ? Yes massively surprised at how this last day has panned out..NO , not more than the very early end.

India has major batting problems and they dont concern just the form of Sachin. Those who think that Sachin going out of the team will somehow turn India's performance northward show extreme lack of understanding.

The problems are much bigger.

Do you guys think that India should continue to play with 5 bowlers?? or do you think they should play with 4 bowlers and 6 specialist batsmen?

I think neither Pathan nor Dhoni is good enough to bat at sixth slot, and that seriously weaken the Indian batting lineup.

Irfunk interestingly was a passenger in the game, wasn't required to bowl much, got one wkt in the match and scored few runs.

TMS suggesting England will run with split captains once Vaughan is fit again - with Vaughan retiring from ODI cricket to save his knees and Freddie taking over. Sounds good to me. :)

Very dissapointed with Indian batting, i knew it wasn't going to be easy to chase down 313 runs or so.. BUT not trying hard has just got me hell surprised...

I must congratulate England on their excellent perfomance.. they deserve the appreciation.. the entire team will take a lot of positives from this series going into the ODI's..

Flintoff is also well deserved of the MOTM and MOTS.. he performed very good.. and i also thaught Hoggard bowled very well in INDIA, far better than what he did in Pakistan IMO!!

Could be a good thing, Vaughan concentrating on the tests and having some of the pressure that obviously affects his game while captaining England taken off his shoulders. Could help him to regain some of his earlier form. That would be great for England.

Where are all the guys who were crucifying England's tactics yesterday? :happy:
I hold my hands up, I thought we wasted far too much time ***** footing around yesterday. Though in my defence I did not know the Indian batsman would be so helpful a second time around.

Here they are.....

This is just absolutely criminal from England. That partnership didn't even score 1 an over. There's absolutely pathetic batting and then there's just gormless stupidity that massively reduces the chances - Dravid will and has been hammered for his mistake, will Flintoff get hammered for this complete nonsense over the past hour?

I must say, England have batted rather stupidly.
But on the other hand....

I think we've played it just right (I seem to be alone in this assessment).

You just had to bring that up didn't you. I still maintain that England wasted too much time yesterday, especially after Flintoff got out. Panesar, Anderson and Hoggard were never going to do accomplish anything besides taking up overs.

You're just lucky the Indian lineup capitulated like a bunch of idiots.
