***Official*** England in India

Where is the declaration????

Its going to be hard enough to get this Inidan side out anyway, who remember do not need to win to win the series, so I see no benefit in carrying on this tedious, low-scoring batting display when we could be putting pressure on there batsmen. I know it might give them a chance to win if we declare now but we need to take such a risk if we want to win this game

And surely there is a better Keeper out there than Dhoni

Another triumph for our wicket-keeper/batsman. Ironic that his best performance behind the stumps has come when his batting has completely gone to pot.
He was doing what everyone here seemed to want, going after the bowling. The ball hit a spot which caused extra bounce.

Oh good now I can finally change my personal guff on MSN to 'England lead by 280odd'. Just cannot believe how ridiculously slow England have batted. Could India have possibly had a better chance of winning the series than when todays play started?

His test record with the bat is mighty ordinary. People talk about whether Pathan is good enough to bat 7 for India, when his test average is almost identical to Jones', and Pathan was a tailender at the start of his career too!

No. Drawing maybe ;)

Am I the only one who spots an attempted masterstroke from Fred here with the declaration? Bat slow all day, tiring the Indian bowlers in the heat, wait until he's played himself in properly and he's batting with the tail, smash us to a lead of 350, and rip out both openers in a five-over burst at the end of the day.

That's the plan, anyway. Mental disintegration, you see. Ask Steve Waugh. He knows. ;) :D

I know we should focus on this test for now, but why not get the discussion started.
Please list your expected ~ preferred squad.

Rahul Dravid (c)
Virender Sehwag (vc)
Sachin Tendulkar
Yuvraj Singh
Mohammad Kaif
Suresh Raina
Gautam Gambhir
MS Dhoni (wk)
Irfan Pathan
Ajit Agarkar ~ VR Singh
Munaf Patel
Sreesanth
RP Singh
Harbhajan Singh
Ramesh Powar or Piyush Chawla
I think Jaffer should be in the side instead of Gambhir.
Powar should be in the side at all cost, would like to see Chawla but can't fit him in.
Ajit may be a safer choice than VRS, but at some point VRS must be tried out.I think Ajit will get the nod, though i'll be happy if VRS is selected and he gets to play atleast a game.

There's nothing safe about Ajit.
