International Coach
Donkey & Dog
Peter Young refutes charges made by rival rag mag
by Frank Lee Trendy

Peter Young, one of the _________ batsmen in CWLand history, has decided to use our gloriously glossy pages to refute the charges made by the scum across the road. He's taken time away from his club cricket side Indiana to have a word with me, Golden Comb award-winning journalist Frank Lee Trendy.

The background to the story is as follows.

The Horse and Hound printed an article using an headline grabbing twisting of Peter Young's words. It was made it sound like the distinguished opener may have called the performance 'crap' referring to the recent loss to South Africa in the final of the Champions Trophy. As a former defeated finalist on the biggest stage of all, the World Cup Final, Mr Young would never say such a thing. "To imply that I might have been frustrated with the performance and called it 'crap' is a gross injustice to my team-mates and myself. I've never said a bad word against any of my team-mates and I'm appalled that the insinuation was even made."

When Mr Young tried to unofficially deny the allegations, Abhinav Shankar continued the unnecessary tirade by digging up dirt on the veteran CW Blue player from his former life. Now the Donkey & Dog would never dig up personal dirt on a player and we are always shocked by the new lengths that the Horse & Hound will go to sell a copy and they've excelled themselves again. Pathetic.....

In other news, Nath Patrick was found guilty of running naked through a crowded shopping centre in the Big Apple (again) causing three heart attacks and eight cases of spontaneous vomiting. The only comment from the guilty party was that we should all feel the love generation and join him in the revolution, Justice Bob Sinclair could only muster a grunt as he made his way to the men's room. Rumour has it the CCTV footage shown was particularly graphic.

Horse & Hound Official Statement: We apologise to Peter Young for the obvious mis-understanding. Your statement 'Crap', used in context with Daniel Towns` 'Gutted' insinuates that you couldn`t believe the nature of the loss and how you had come so close not to win, not that the team performed badly.

Well, in my defence, I did get your wicket and take three others, so whatever I`m doing must be working

"They have colour TV?" CW Black batsman left blushing
Cricketweb XI specialist batsman Chris Butler was left red faced after an embarrassing TV interview left him struggling.

Upon viewing a new plasma television, showing replays of his fighting innings of 8 in the CT final, he remarked, "They have colour TV these days?"

He was then asked what it was like seeing himself on computer games. "It's great fun seeing myself on the brand spanking new Atari. It's crazy what they can do with technology these days."

When offered a glass of water, he responded with, "This is great. Which well did you pump it up from?"

The end of the interview couldn't have come sooner, with the star claiming he had to go so as not to "keep the horse and carriage waiting".

Rowan endorses Agarwal

From cricinfo -
http://content-ind.cricinfo.com/australia/content/story/233695.html

The 80-year-old former Test umpire Lou Rowan has branded Ricky Ponting a disgrace to his country and expressed his disgust at Australia's conduct this summer.

Rowan, a police detective who officiated in 25 Tests in the 1960s and 1970s, claims Ponting lacks class and authority as a captain, while stating that Australia's behaviour this summer has been an insult to former players.

"Ponting is a smart **** and a disaster as leader. The conduct of him and his players is absolutely disgraceful," Rowan told Fox Sports. "He has no control over his players. It is an insult to former players and people associated with the game."

During a tempestuous series against South Africa, Adam Gilchrist, Brett Lee and Glenn McGrath have all been called to the match referee this summer, prompting angry and resentful comments from former players and captains - and now umpires. Ponting, whose leadership came under increased scrutiny after Australia lost the Ashes last summer, conceded that his team's attitude and behaviour simply must change.

"It just hasn't looked good," he said. "Just a couple of things on telly, even though there have been some chats with the umpires, they just haven't looked good and the perception of it is it's a blight on the game.

"So I just had a chat with the guys this morning to make sure we are thinking about how bad it would look on the television if we do it. I have got no problem with the bowlers especially wanting to have a chat with the umpire and ask about certain decisions that have been made. But let's just make it one question and one answer, and then get on with it."

Our Australian team [are] quite correctly dubbed 'the ugly Australians'

Lou Rowan

Rowan's abhorrence at Australia's antics have culminated in the extraordinary admission that he has now watched his last Test match.

"The standard of conduct that was common-place in my time has been contemptuously trampled underfoot by certain Australian players who cannot grasp the significance of the honour bestowed on them by the baggy green cap," Rowan said.

"The ever-present and accepted practice of sledging, obscenities, excessive appealing, the questioning of umpires and the accompanying dissent leaves our Australian team quite correctly dubbed 'the ugly Australians'."

"Rowan should shut the **** up" - Claude Makelele

Hard-hitting journalist Claude Makelele has slammed claims by former test umpire Lou Rowan that the Australian team is 'ugly.'

"Who the hell is Lou Rowan? Can anyone honestly say they've heard of the guy?" he mused. "He's 80 years old for goodness sake. He'd be senile and visually impaired. I'd be surprised if he could actually make Ricky Ponting out on the cricket field."

"He doesn't have a very good record with the press. Let's not forget him saying back in 1995 that Muralitharan and Ranatunga should be banned. Or in 2000 when he said the same of Brett Lee? If anyone is a smartarse, it's Lou Rowan," Makelele explained.

"Lou Rowan is a nobody. The fact he thinks the Australian team is 'ugly' is really great to hear, but nobody cares. He's some pseudo cricket expert who just wants a bit of attention. It adds no weight to the argument about Australia having an ugly image. People can watch games and make up their own mind, they don't need this old fart telling them Australia has an 'ugly' image. Rowan should shut the **** up," Makelele offered in closing.
