A shocker for me and most of the team with the bat but the performance with the ball shows why this team is shaping into a strong outfit.

Excellent performance guys. :cool2:

PS I took a catch. ;)

Fixtures were removed to cater for the final to be played on the 20th, and I forgot to add them back in.

I realized that on my way to school today. I've reworked the fixtures since and hopefully there are no errors in it now.

Correct fixtures attached.

Super Eights Matches

West Indies vs Australia
WEST INDIES 321/8 50.0 overs
AUSTRALIA 316/7 50.0 overs

West Indies won by 5 runs

Man of the match: S Chanderpaul

A tremendous game to kick off the second round of the CWC. Brilliant innings from Chanderpaul, Lara, Ponting and Gilchrist saw a nail-biting finish on the flattest of wickets and fastest of outfields. Definitely not a game to be a bowler!

England vs Pakistan
ENGLAND 295/6 50.0 overs
PAKISTAN 296/7 49.4 overs

Pakistan won by 3 wickets

Man of the match: Yousuf Youhana

Another flat pitch and another brilliant game. Right down to the third to last ball this one. Classic stuff as Yousuf Youhana led the Pakistan charge after Flintoff, Collingwood and Trescothick put up a great total.

South Africa vs India
SOUTH AFRICA 267/4 50.0 overs
INDIA 234/9 50.0 overs

South Africa won by 33 runs

Man of the match: GC Smith

A century from Graeme Smith proved enough, when Shaun Pollock took wickets at a crucial stage to knock back the Indian lower order and stunt their chase. Another fascinating game!

India vs West Indies
INDIA 324 49.4 overs
WEST INDIES 298/4 50.0 overs

India won by 26 runs

Man of the match: SC Ganguly

The runs continue to flow. Ganguly plays his second consecutive big innings, this time to a winning cause.

Australia vs New Zealand
AUSTRALIA 335/4 50.0 overs
NEW ZEALAND 201/9 50.0 overs

Australia won by 134 runs

Man of the match: ML Hayden

Back to back centuries for Ricky Ponting! A second consecutive innings of 107, but taking it up a notch and accomplishing a big total for Australia.

**CW XI vs South Africa**
Welcome to Sabina Park for the Super Eights matchup between the CW XI and South Africa. Despite the controversy surrounding Nikhil Nichani, the players have managed to group together and a full-strength XI is set to play today.

Both these teams have had good success in this World Cup to date. Both emerge from the group stages unbeaten and dominant. South Africa went on to extend that streak to win their first second round game against India yesterday, behind a brilliant Smith hundred. Now they hope to virtually secure a semi-final birth with the same against the Cricket Webheads.

These teams have played each other twice before, with a win apiece.

Blewy has lost the toss and his team has been asked to bat first on a pitch with a bit of pace and seam and a fast outfield.

**injury Report**

Top Cat of the CW XI will miss 4 games with a broken finger. He'll be fit for the final, should we reach it.

DNT Zoysa will miss 2 games with a sore rotator cuff.

Very happy on a personal note, but the loss really takes away from it:(

We fought well though guys:)

Small point, but if Nikhil is out of the squad, is there a replacement to be named or is that irrelevant as it isn't an injury?

2nd option is best for me I think.

It's probably only time I'll be around.
