Letting Wheater going to Essex at this stage of the season is weird. Sure he wants to keep so letting him go at the end of the season is fair enough but not now, even stranger when Foster will still be keeping at Essex. Wonder what has gone on there.
Guessing it's a case of of man in his mid twenties moving back in with his parents. He's kinda embarrassed about it so it's a bit hush.

When Bell-Drummond racks up the runs in Div 1 next year the selectors will have to give him a chance. How Sam Northeast isn't in serious consideration I don't know, he was the top English run scorer in the blast last year (I think) and has been in incredible incredible form this season in the 4 day stuff.

Because there's more to selection than looking up the averages for this season, thank goodness

Sam Northeast was the Next Big Thing several seasons ago. Then he spent about 5 years being crap.

Isn't there only one side getting promoted this year?

Essex have to come to us in the last game so i'm hoping for an inning's victory again, although having Cook will make it just a little harder then last season's win but having Viljoen is a great bonus.

Its not just his average but the volume of runs and when he got them. Not every batsman fulfil they're potential immediately so don't write him off for being mediocre for a few seasons, having the captaincy may have helped knowing he has to be more reliable with the bat and set an example.

If Yorkshire win this when all their rivals are rained off, conclusive proof they're in collusion with Satan.

Weather forecast in Southampton, yet they play on.

Yorkshire were rained off yesterday while on the victory charge while Middlesex played on so it's pretty much just good karma coming in.

Is that Somerset debut? Looks like he has 1 FC match already where he got tonked.

Barker surely must be up there for MVP award from the PCA thing?

96 all out when choosing to bat first.. Is it a dodgy pitch? Our seamers did the damage, rather than spin which has been key at Taunton this year.

With Warwickshire already 5 down in reply, 3 to the debutant 19 year old spinner. Debutant in the CC, anyway.

All over by tea on Day 2?
