So my boy Jake (not McGurk) is down under for a holiday and recently his brother got chicken pox which actually allowed him to stay an extra week
because of the quarantine rule about getting back to school. We decided to come to Sydney and I got a BnB right in the middle of Bondi beach.
Now to say that it's been disappointing so far would be somewhat of an understatement. It hasn't stopped blowing and raining for nearly 36 hours
and the forecast for the next 4 days is no different. Tonight's game in Sydney may be the other side of town but I'd certainly be surprised if we can
get a completed match. Just the thought of dishing out nearly $500 a night for this **** feels crippling and I'm already wishing that we'd gone to
Melbourne or the Gold Coast. @Burgey has some serious questions to answer for this dross.
Sydney turned it on for the real cricket this year for a change.

Saw last night the BOM is now saying there's been a mid-season shift and we no have a La Nina. WAC of a thing it is. Basically means no decent summer for Sydney from here on in.

Cribbeh, you need to reach a point in life where the standard of libations on offer in corporate boxes becomes the norm rather than such a treat. It's that sort of personal growth people meed to aspire to.

There's only one Sydney Test every year though. They're taking me to the Sixers vs Thunder game on the 17th as well (cue rain).

Oh are they? ****, I'd just suggested to Burgetta we go out to that andhave dinner at Totti's as she missed out on a day in the Members for the test.

Again, I trust you have declared this gift in accordance with NSW public service requirements.

Tottis, that's down the back way of a laneway in the CBD? Reckon I went there last year, in fact Google confirms I did. What a joint that is

Enough has been said about JFM and I hate to pick on players especially when they're so young, but that shot tonight really summed up just where
he's at. To slash at that ball, just short of a good length and just outside off pretty much says it all. He's mentally fizzled.
Only a fool would say that he'll never be any good, but he badly needs some time off even if it's just a week or two to have a breather and think things
over. As we saw with Allen it only takes one good innings to turn things around in this format but he's now at the point where he has to have a break.
The selectors can do him and the Renegades a big favour but I'd bet any money they're not even contemplating that.
I think he is talented but atm he's being treated negligently. Smoke is being blown up his skirt by calling him Rooster or next big thing. He's falling for the hype and I suppose while he's getting the $$ he'll consider that approval of his methods. But how long can he continue failing until he starts getting cut and find out that selectors wanted runs and not a just a circus all along? I hope he paid attention to Will Sutherland last night and realise there's enough time to right an innings and accelerate coming home. Whereas now he just goes big from ball one. In that regard he reminds me a little of Brad Haddin when he first started playing and I remember him being roasted by O'Donnell that he doesn't show the respect state bowling deserves. Haddin wised up but I wonder if JFM is getting similar advice?

Yeah, there's a few of them around now. The original is Bondi. Sadly, Justin Hemmes has bought the name. He somehow got the contract for the SCG stadium catering, and as much as I can't stand the bloke, it is better than it used to be.

Before he had it, the Members' food options were already pretty good - there was a Doyles and some decentish take away concessions in the back of the Noble. The other options at the ground were average though. Since Hemmes took it over they've put in an Indian joint, a Queen Chow dumpling bar and also a sit down Totti's. The latter is pretty damn good. There's also 1886 in the Members Stand which does decent a la carte feeds as well, but it books out in a New York minute.

I would spend your time looking at the highlights of the 2nd to 5th tests of the recently completed Border-Gavaskar Trophy series.

As an aside, I believe it no coincidence that the longer the series went on, the less competitive India became. Very few of the lesser nations get to play 5 test series, and their fitness, endurance and concentration just weren't up to it.

Hopefully as their cricket develops, they will be better able to cope with a full length series. I expect them to become competitive again over the longer schedule within a decade or two.

That's no way to talk about the 2004 Australian GT Performance Car Championship champion. Yeah, that actually happened.

Although that being said, I have heard it suggested from people who would have firsthand knowledge that his car was less than completely legal throughout the season, the restrictions required on the turbo on his Subaru were practically ignored in the name of keeping a well funded driver and team in the series. 2nd in the championship (Paul Stokell) was/is a vastly more talented racer, but in a much slower car

For a bit more context, the championship was under the umbrella of the former Procar tour alongside Nations Cup (which ended up morphing into the Australian GT championship) and the V8 Utes. But when the guy who owned and ran Procar went bust, the championships they were promoting basically ended up being run by various competitors of said championships basically to keep the show on the road

punter is a really good analyst so it makes me exceptionally annoyed that he’s advocating for connolly in the test squad “because he’s in bbl form with the bat”
