I hope Kallis doesn't turn this into a *yawnfest* ...

His scoring rate in the first innings was better than that of Ponting, Martyn and Hussey.

Perhaps you ought to address your concerns to them?

Ah, but it went against Australia, so is the worst umpiring ever.
Bucknor's standard has been dropping since India were down in Australia when he gave the rough decision to Tendulkar in Brisbane, since then he has made a lot of poor decisions. So don't go making it sound as if only when its vs Australia people are questioning his decisions..

Definitely his 50 came off just 49 balls yesterday. Very strange for Kallis who would normally score a 50 off 120 or so balls. He probably figures the Aussies are going to get him out eventually so he wants to make some runs before they do.
He soon made up for it, next 50 from 124 balls, and the 14 after that from 60!

Those first two ballls to Nel were seriously quick - 159.3 & 156.4 kmph.

I loved how Warnie called him a softcock and to get in behind the line.

Very much deserved from Lee. He's bowled brilliantly for a few months now without a great deal of luck. Good to see him come on and get everything his way for once. Career average down to 31.04 now, dropped almost 3 runs in his last 8 tests.

Its been just wonderful to see Brett Lee bowling this well since he returned from England, improving single game. Watch out England, Lee is coming back vastly improved...

Yep, that was top-shelf. Looks like Lee is starting to deliver on that promise a lot of us have been saying he's had for the last few months. The bloke deserves some luck because he's worked so damn hard at being a top-level Test bowler. Fault his bowling, fault his brain sometimes but you can't fault his attitude or work-ethic.

Yes we will see plenty of RIchard because just like Glenn McGrath's 'lucky' period between 1:43pm on the 12th of May 2000 and 4:31pm on the 15th of April two-thousand-dickety-three, Brett Lee has suddenly and dramatically found his own luck. Nothing else explains why he's gotten more than his usual share of wickets. If I'm wrong, I'll eat my computer.

I'm getting this crazy urge to quote some of my own posts from VB Series through to the New Zealand tour in 2005. :p

Seriously though, he worked amazingly hard on his bowling in the break he had from test cricket around the tours of Sri Lanka and India, and showed the improvement in his ODI performances straight after. His figures didn't improve significantly as they were already very good, but he's been much more accurate and consistent since, and all he needed to become a class bowler was some time at test level and a little fine tuning. He showed some signs during the Ashes and got some help before the Australian summer started, and since then he's barely put a foot wrong.

Australia are in for a solid few years on the fast bowling front if he can keep it up, especially if Clark follows up with what he's shown as well.
