These are the odds for how many runs will be scored off the first over of day 3, as offered by the TAB. I might put a couple on more than 6 runs and hope that Gambhir gets a single first ball and lets Shewag wild...

For a guy who averages 62 with the bat in the first class game, I'm surpriised Dheeraj Jadhav has played only 25 FC games.

Is competition tough for batting spots in his domestic team?

Rahul Dravid will require five runs to bring up 7000 Test runs for India :jawdrop: . That will be less then 12 months, when he brought up 6000 Test runs for India at Adelaide last year.

6 fours off the last two overs, McGrath will not be happy for the three fours that LAxman hit.

It appears that both McGrath and Kasprowitz have two short mid wickets for Laxman. I can see why. But if they make it so obvious, I doubt if even in full flow he is going to pull/flick straight into them. Its a great position to catch him (and Sachin too) but if you make it that obvious, you must take Laxman to be very silly indeed.

Will he prove them right ?

I think not. In fact this more than anything else should open his eyes to one of his weakspots.

They will make him play straighter and this will reduce the chances of his getting out.

What a terrible way for a player of Sachin's caliber to get out. Sweep is a bad habit he has picked up from ODI's.

With his strokes , he has no need for a sweep, least of all on a wicket like this and in a test match. Ridiculous and highly irresponsible. With the team in this crisis, he has to make the bowlers get him.

Congratulations to Hauritz though. Tendulkars wicket is always a good feather to have in the cap of a debutant bowler.
