LOL! Kudos for holding up your side of the best though. But still, that's hilarious!

Well done England

Although this time I wasn't able to watch any cricket, you gave me the same emotions I had in '81 when Botham gave me the cricket virus.

Well done England. Proved me wrong. I still see AUS as number 1 in the world though. If England can continue winning and then beat AUS away then they will replace them as world Number 1.

Well done England ,you beat a great team that never said die,The australian cricketers are currently ALL having beers with the England boys. They will be congratulating them on a victory well deserved. I suggest we all(ozzies) do the same .Be humble in defeat,as the players are doing and congrats to Eng,the batton has been passed. I am sure it is safe hands. For the ozzies it had to end one day ,the side was definatly aging but they did deserve to all go on the tour and i feel now the batton will change in OZ cricket to the youngsters. The challenge now is for the new group to try and reclaim the ashes and that is exciting. Well done to you all in england ,a mighty ,mighty effort.
Enjoy it............

Pothas,hi m8 I think i can say with some degree of certainty that SK WARNE will play in the series in australia. He has a fire that will burn until he retrieves the ashes. Of course this doesnt mean we automaticly can reclaim them but his spot would not be in question. He will continue, but had they have drawn this series ,i think it was curtains for the great spinner. So in defeat at least we(Oz ) have some good news huh hahaha, but lets not take the light from england ,they were great in a fantastic series for cricket.Eng won Aus lost and cricket was the WINNER.

congratulations England on a job well done. i said before the series that if england had any chance to win this series it would require a superhuman effort from flintoff, and as it turned out even that wouldnt have been enough if everyone else in the side hadnt contributed. pietersen's innings today was as good an innings as you'll ever see, and he once again proved that hes a man for the big occasion, first chance score of 0 or not. a few beers tonight for sure, after watching england for the first time in my lifetime beat australia in an ashes series.

Everyone else feel free to get involved, there's bound to be a fair few pub quiz questions on this series in the future. :D

What a difference a dropped catch makes !
indeed and i mentioned this at the start of the series too. catches win matches, and its not just coincidence that the better team tends to drop less catches than the team that loses. australia have shown a major decline in their fielding standards over the last year or so, and after ponting's 'we'll have a bowl' in the 2nd test, the dropped catches have been the most significant factor in their defeat.

Useless fact #1. :cool2:

Flintoff bowled 70 no-balls this series.
its not useless, its actually extremely important for the future. he bowled far too many no balls this series, and its something that he needs to work on, because down the line it may just cost england.
