Pietersen finally out, fantastic knock.

But I'd just like to say thank you very much to Richie Benaud, there will never be another like you, sir. It was a pleasure listening to you.

Agree and agree.

Why should Vaughan be foolish and declare?! It suits England to carry on and play balls on merit atm.
Did you even understand a single word from that post ?

I dont know about the history but as a neutral fan I am truly dissapointed. I was hoping for a good final day.
So was I, but I think it was more the case that we weren't good enough, than England being spoilsports. We needed to bowl them out. I'm sure Vaughan has plenty of confidence in his bowlers (and he showed that last test in enforcing the follow-on), but there's not much point for him in conjuring up an exciting finish just for the sake of the punters.

I'm a tad confused about Richie - is it actually his last stint of commentary ever or just for Channel 4 in the UK? I thought I'd read a while ago that he'd signed a new contract with Nine over here...

Vaughan isn't the most aggressive captain you'll see and the win probably doesn't matter that much to him, he just wants to save the match and win the series.
Well, in that case they should end this test right here.

Just his last in the UK, so us guys over here will never get to hear him again. I would have preferred him to be here in this last session, to be honest. But never mind.

So at what point can the two captains agree to call this thing off? Usually it's related to the scheduled conclusion - I don't know exactly what that'll mean with the longer day due to the rain, though.

Yeah, that's what I thought - thanks. I think I got confused when some Aussies started farewelling him...

Just a wonderfull day, simply wonderfulll. To win the ashes is just the greatest thing that has happened in sport in my life so far. England have grown into a wondefull side over the last couple few years well done Flethcher and the England managment, well done Nasser Hussain for helping build this side, well done to micheal vaughan and his whole side. Pieterson today has really shown what a player he is and will be in the futurre. Australia are still a great side though clearly not at their best and shane Warne is just increadible.

Lets just enjoy this wonderfulll moment before turning our atentions to establishing England as the best side in the world

what was the deal with that? I missed it. All I saw was McGrath bowl the offstump with no one there and nothign happened on the replay. *_*

What a shot to bring up a magnificent 50 from Ashley Giles there, and boy does he ever deserve that. Can't forget how important his innings has been.

well I would go further, and say it was wonderfullll :p Seriously though, I can appreciate how much this must mean for England supporters, but I am definitely not one of those. This is a sad day

basicly thats all it was.

it shows how good mcgrath is at hitting the top of off-stump and it shows the australians spirit being broken,he wouldn't have bowled it if australia were about to win.
