Why oh why didnt they pick MacGill? Poms are good against pace but very ordinary against spin.
They probably gave it serious consideration, but his 0/128 off 24 against Essex couldn't have inspired confidence. He really needed to do better that game, and it made it hard for the selectors to take the chance.

As a batsman you should improve as you get experience against any bowler, but particularly someone like Warne when you play him like you've never held a bat in anger in your life as England did in the first Test - you'd think the only way is up from there... but obviously not.
Time for someone to clear off fishing for a few days, and leave Cricket Web to those who actually LIKE cricket.

Go on, off you go. I'll pay for your maggots even. Quick. They're biting.

Ridiculous, as usual some guy watching on TV knows better than numerous scientists who've spent months rigorously testing their invention.
And who said numerous scientists have spent months rigorously testing their invention?

Did you see them doing this?

True but that's MacGill and he's just as likely to turn it around with a bag of wickets the next day.

As it stands, were feeding the Poms with a barrage of bowling that they enjoy.

SO hard to study when this is going on. Brilliant Warne and good catching. I love it.

The real question is, why didn't numerous scientists spend months rigorously testing Scaly Piscine? Because clearly, he's been malfunctioning for some time now.

Not really a hard decision to make though was it?

If im correct (im not far off) Warne came on in the 12th over. For the first innings of a test on a belter, that is pretty extraordinary. Im not saying it was a hard decision, just a very uncommon one.

Hopefully something like:

"Shame he couldn't quite reach his 300"

or

"All over, 650 all out"
Better.....

An air of optimism.

Earlier I kept hearing this Andy Capp-like voice in my head every time I looked in on Cricket Web, and all it was saying was "Oooooorr Noooooorr" - depressing enough being at work when there's a test on, and frankly Cricinfo's just not worth bothering with so I'm having to rely on you guys being my eyes and ears today.

(looks at latest score: Oooooooorr Noooooooorr :D )
