You really are the epitome of the traditional English fan.
Not typically of someone from CricketWeb though. For a nation that has looked like it might win the Ashes for the first time in eighteen years, they have been controlled and just in their comments. I`m impressed.

Benaud talking a bit of rubbish for a change, Pietersen's dismissal is hardly anything like Gatting's. The only similarity is a bit of drift - there was far more for Gatting's tho. Pietersen's was fuller and he made it into a yorker, then missed it and it didn't turn - just hit his pad and then onto off stump.

I probably should have clarified with "pre-June 05". Of late, theyve been somewhat... cough.... Australian.

Ugh here comes the effing horse racing.
You're only saying that because Florrie's in the room.

Edit:

Incidentally, when I was working in Middlesbrough last year (or 'Burra' as it's known locally) I stayed at a super-cheap B&B in Redcar (pronounced 'Redkuh') and the landlord of the quite excellent Anchor Lodge, an ex-miner and tunnel builder called Pete, knew Reg Smythe who drew Andy Capp - and he also knew the bloke (pronounced 'bloork') who Andy was based on.

You don't come from Hartlepool, do you?

Looks a good wicket for cricket.

Some pace, bounce and a little turn.

Unfortunately for Aus, McGrath doesnt look 100% but another quick wicket or so and it may not matter until the 2nd dig.

Exactly. Bounce, pace, carry, but a batsman worth his salt should make plenty of runs.

Strauss playing a quality knock here.

That's 3 4s through the slips for Flintoff.

The best way to restrict runs is to take wickets.

Whatever it takes!!!
anyone else here feel Ponting's captaincy has been annoyingly defensive? I mean, I can understand the defensive fields for Lee and Tait, but even for McGrath and Warne? Wassupwiddat?

I'm calling it early, but Tait getting a hint of reverse here. Freddie would be smiling to himself up the other end.
It was a good opening over for him
