 Didn't know that myself. Love seeing Dean Jones make an idiot of himself.

I loved how he went on for 10 minutes last year during the India-Aus series that Aus were the holders of the Border-Gavaskar Trophy, only for polite Sanjay Manjrekar to correct him :p
I'd like to email the address they keep reading out on air to correct him, but I can't remember what it is and it's not actually clearly displayed on their website at all. Go figure.

I never thought I'd say this, but thank god for the rain.

This does greatly help the Aussie cause though. If they can put on another hundred or so, and then (somehow) bowl the Poms out early or get a sporting declaration from Vaughan, then they could be in with a chance. But it probably won't happen.

I think it depends on how much play is left, assuming we get around 100 overs bowled the next two days, and maybe 20-30 today (if England are batting they *might* continue batting through the probable offers of bad light) then I still think England are significant favourites over the draw. Australia would probably face something like 120-140 overs to bat out or get 400+

I'm optimistic we should be playing fairly soon. I hope the umpires don't leave the inspection until 1530 BST.
1434: The covers are coming off at Old Trafford.

play to 1900 today, starts early tommorow and then till 1900 again, plenty of time

Why only the first day?
Couldn't exactly answer that, but that's the rule. If the first 4 days are washed out, the follow-on mark is reduced to 75. :D

So, I suppose you could score 200 in 40 overs or so, bowl a team out for 100 and make them follow on and go for the win. A two-day game is 100 for the follow-on, and three and four day games are 150.

Anyways what do people think about who should bowl when England get back in the field?

Personally I think Flintoff and the taff.
