Hmmm..he did look in good form but I'd be more worried at the shot he played than argue over whether the umpire should've made the no-ball call.
Yes, it was a bad shot, but regardless, it was not out.

And how can you argue whether the umpire should have called it, he WAS over.

Well I can't disagree that it was a no-ball but TBH he played a bad shot and deserved to go - we are talking an extremely small margin that umpires often miss.

The no-ball was very close, with things like that what usually happens is the bowlers keep edging further and further until one gets called and then the bowler adjusts. I'm sure Flintoff will have been marginally past or on the line before that delivery and if he'd have been called then in the first place he'd have adjusted and the delivery he got Langer with would have been a legitimate delivery. Anyway they should go back to letting the 3rd umpire call no-balls.

Yes.

Well at least we both agree that it was a no ball, and the fact it was a terrible shot.

But none the less, I think the more intriguing thing will be how England's top order hold up if the weather is the same as now. I doubt their middle order's chances if they lose Vaughan/Strauss/Trescothick early.

Actually, I think he means because there was a big possibility it was missing the stumps.

IMO it was out at first glance. Though replays were a little less convincing.

You've been warned!!!
To be fair James, I don't think that was the Sewag309 we've seen on here before - he wouldn't make 2000+ posts then change that much.

yeah but that hardly makes it a 'horrible decision'

close, 50/50, a bit harsh but hardly 'horrible'

Maybe Warne had just had a really intense few minutes on his mobile phone.

Not particularly happy with the Clarke decision, I certainly wouldn't have given it.

England bowled rather beautifully excluding the opening spell that session, and Australia contributed to their own demise with overly aggressive play once more. They seem to do this quite often at the start of a series following ODIs... we saw it in Sri Lanka and New Zealand recently. Hopefully Gilchrist, Katich and the tail can push Australia up to at least 200-250, which sub-par but probably defendable with good bowling. 300-350 is a good score imo. The wicket looks pretty easy, but the ball has done a little bit with the overhead conditions, which may well be gone before long.

Dunno, but Pietersen looks like he had a date with a vampire last night...

Katich and Gilly looking nice and solid at the moment. Getting some more width from the English bowlers too.

Bowling a load of garbage after lunch so far.
Very poor from Flintoff, which is unusual, to be fair. I don't know what's happened to his line over lunch. Or his front foot.
