oh dear :-O, this is the worst start Australia have had in a long time, Hodge could be playing sooner rather than later now. Boy my fingers are crossed for another Gilchrist miracle
Anyone remember Pakistan at the WACA?

Gilchrist and Katich put on 212 three Tests ago... here's hoping. :)
Although note the strength of the Kiwi attack that day...England certainly pose a much stronger line-up so it certainly won't be easy.

Hoping to get rich off it eh?

Crazy... absolutely crazy. Though I`m not at all surprised.

Honestly... I know he`s probably not, but far out Freddie looks to be chucking. Not to mention a few no-balls that should have been given.

Regardless, as it stands, England well on top. Go Warnie, smoke your way to the top.

Yes, it's more of a hope than an expectation. I'm fairly confident though that at least one of them will make a decent score, if not a century then at least something enough to reach a defendable target, i.e. 200+.

There are more chances of Australia being bowled out early than a Gilchist bravado saving a first inning low score. But a test match has 2 innings a side and Australia can bounce back despite a low first inning score.
well thats possible also, but it isn't often when Australia has to do that...

but Michael Clarke, unless he scores something big in his second dig, doesn't look to have a secure position IMO.

he didn't look to bad for me, i would be more confident in his return to form than i would on that LBW call.... and Langer caught off a no ball... the Australian team arn't the only ones who could use a little more form....

Warnie having a smoke on the balcony was amusing though :D

any bets for Warne getting to 50 or 100 today, he's been in good form :p
Well, he does have more runs than Pietersen this county season - and at a better strike rate, too. :p

Oh, I hadn't realised it was short. I didn't think it was that wide though.
He got across to it, but it went under him, so too short.

Not that it matters a great deal now!

Could England not have wanted a more perfect start?!

5/97 - I won't write off Australia until Gilchrist is out.

This is going to be one hell of a Test series.

The wrong decision on Langer being out may turn out to be very costly for the Aussies.
Hmmm..he did look in good form but I'd be more worried at the shot he played than argue over whether the umpire should've made the no-ball call.
