Well the QLD cap J.Maher was talking about declaring to a few of the guys, to make a game of it, when the Aussie captain turned up at the ground and said it's their last tour game and I don't want you to declare, I want them to bowl you out, Maher agreed and QLD went onto make that massive 1st inngs score batting for nearly 2 of the 3 days, so a draw was alway bound to end in a draw. Basically Waugh didn't want a game he just wantted to punish the English before the Ashes even started.

GB can I ask what was Langer helmet made out of????

It looked like a piece of pointless plastic, that wouldn't have stoped a thing.....

They are the new design helmet from Albion..
A few of the guys are wearing them.
Personally i think they are disgusting,
Langers looked way to big and looked like it would fall off....

This is the official description of them...
Features: In the biggest advancement the cricket market has seen, Albion are proud to launch their new Test Series helmet. Designed using computer aided technology and made using industrial grade modern materials, the new Albion Test Series is significantly lighter, stronger, and better ventilated than all our previous models.

Mate he's only 140 odd from it so don't be so confident....

If he don't get it he's still rattled up a monstous score...

140 is a hell of a long way away in terms of runs and time... but you never know

true, But his 1st 100 came off only 125 balls... so he's only really about 1 and a half sessions away from it....

Well Hayden's chances are very good now that England have lost one strike bowler. And you'd have to say that the rest really didn't look like take any wickets apart from Hoggard on occassions.

So we could be witnessing the new record holder, i think its on the cards.

Yeah if he bats as well today... or even if the English don't drop him serval times again

The real question is, if he gets there, Will he pass it????

I mean Taylor equalled it and could've passed it...

I hope they allow him to pass it and not declare if he gets equal or near it....

...which are all very likely scenarios on the second day. Australia should be looking at 650+ and Hayden 300+. England on the other hand should be looking to atleast avoid an innings defeat.

I reckon if Hayden gets to 300, Waugh will let him have a crack at it. He'd be a bastard not to, & the fact that Australia are already well head because of their fast run-rate surely will allow Hayden the time to get it today.

Just noticed that Tasmania won the toss and elected to bat first against NSW.

So we will all get to see what the Aussie's are going to miss in this Test

Bad Luck Matty Hayden, Out for 197....

Quite strange with Only Caddick appealing and Hayden walking without being given...
Alec Stewart didn't seem to really be interested...

So much for Hayden getting a record score...out for 197 gloved down the leg-side off Andy Caddick...sounds like Vaughan...the inability to get to 200 I mean!

Now Caddick's got an early wicket, lets see if it spurs him on! A shame he's starting with 71 runs against his name before he gets going though :(
