Eyes not spreadsheets
I think it time for Giles to go and Bring in Scofield who training with England at the minute
Someone who didn't make the first team for his county for half the season, and took 18 wickets in 7 games? Good call.

What is your obsession with leg-spinners - we don't have one good enough!

Yes but 18 wickets at an average of 18 and averaging 32 with the bat...

Athough C.S only played 7 games his 18 wickets did come @ an avg of only 18 and Econ just over 3.... anyway Giles is the best we have and he played well today/yesterday. C.S is certianly one for the future though.

He had a very good season in fact...ok his bowling avg of about 30 is still a bit high but he did avg 35ish with the bat as well.

I think Tudor would have been a good idea...and if you can get him to bat properly then that would have been a nice bonus, but the one person who has been superb for years and turned himself into an all-rounder is Martin Bicknell, I wouldn't mind seeing him picked. Or Saggers of course ;)
Saggers for sure, but even I have to admit he isn't an all-rounder (does have a 1st class 50 to his name)

Bicknell, using Marc's favourite argument, he is too old now...at 34 he is only likely to have 1 maybe 2 seasons left in him.

About Caddick's age...well he's 33, maybe a bit old now but Caddick is 33 too...and Bicknell is actually a month or so younger...

Ealham wouldn't really have been effective in Australia though...

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA....

Good morning my Englishmen friends....

Will u be all showing up to the GABBA today, i mean someone will have to play as the guys that turned up yesterday apparently can't make it today.....

But on the serious side, that was the shodiest day of fielding and bowling i have seen in a long time....

Caddick: Inconsistent line and length, never troubled Aussie Batsman.....

Hoggard: Got some good swing but has to learn how to control it....

Jones: Looked very good to me:O:O:O before his unfortunate incident, by far and away the pick of the bowlers and he only bowled 7.....

Giles: Apart from his lucky wicket never looked like troubling the batsman...

White: toiled well but never looked that dangerous....

As for the Aussies Hayden was unbelieveable.... This guy is unbelieveable, he just drives the opposition into the ground and who knows he could hit 300.....
:O:O:O:O:O:O:O

Why does every wicket have to be lucky against the Aussies????

Surly a batsman who has been out there for a few hours and has hit 120 odd would be seeing the ball like a football...and to be bowled around the leg with no shot offered means the ball spinned more than he fault or it was just a good ball or the guy is just a fool not to play a shot with a ball heading towards his stumps.... Iam going with the first option

The ball got caught in his pad...

Im not making excuses i was just saying it was a bit lucky...

Even Dermot Reeves on Inside Cricket last night said that Giles was lucky....

But Australia were lucky as well with a few instances, ie Dropped catches....

Yep... but that's what the Aussies are good at making teams pay for their mistakes and they did it again yesterday.

However on my R.Key note, he nearly pulled of a super catch at mid on... it must have been good as all the Aussie guys on comm' were saying so as well...

Yeah i saw that, he was unlucky, just need to put some growth pills in his food over there in kent mate....
:D:D:D:D

He was just a tad short....

But really the tone for the day was set after the 3rd ball when Vaughan misfielded a simple rolling ball to gully...

Vaughan better make a heap of runs cause he has cost them a heap....

Also one super performance not yet noted from yesterday was that of AB and his wife in his 1000km walk to the GABA

Top effort and all for a good reason, in a interview he said he raised $100,000 just from people giving money thoughout the walk, wish people would give me money as I walked past :D

LOL, I have every faith in Vaughan getting among the runs... the pitch looks a super batting deck and he can't be in any better form at the moment.

LOL yeah it was a good effort....

The only downer was when they were on the road, they stayed overnight in a town in Nthn NSW(can't remember which one it was) and someone broke into their hotel room and stole Video Camera's and other stuff with heaps of memorable photos etc...

But AB really is a great guy...
other people who walked at stages with him were Dean Jones, Pat Rafter, Mal Meninga, and Allan Langer...

So u staying up to watch the cricket again today, i mean u have to see Haydo's hit hit 200...

Well I'll stay up till about Lunch, but I have work tommorow so can't stay to late tonight, even though I would love to :(

I also saw R.Key's Ashes report in the local paper and found out why England couldn't have the oportunity to pull of a victory against QLD in the last warm up game.... it was because of S.Waugh, the damn guy wasn't even playing and still cost us the chance to win the match :(
