hehe you missed the point....I said Aussies.....crow crow :bird:

PS. They have every right to.....
Oh yeah they have every right to they batted superbly and made England pay for their mistakes.... but iam just taking the opportunity to defend England while all the Aussies are in bed :P :D

As for Jones, it could have been worse....he might not have taken a wicket
Nope. Wicket or no wicket....he needed to be out there. Its shattering to go out this way, he may have expected a not so succesful run in the game but now he'll never know until next time ? [/quote]

And I think you missed my point here, in your comment you was saying how everything was going against him and that things couldn't get any worse.... surely by not taking a wicket would have made it worse.

Umm has a Test batting avg of 43, hit 94* against India @ Trent Bridge before getting an injury. Will get good bounce etc on the Aussie pitches and finally what other All-Rounder are there Corky, Ealham

Who would you have taken????
Someone who can bowl maybe?
Again the question is WHO????
Ealham has fallen away badly since being dropped by England...and Flintoff is not only injured but he's also getting dangerously close to being classed as a lower order batsman that bowls a bit...

I think Tudor would have been a good idea...and if you can get him to bat properly then that would have been a nice bonus, but the one person who has been superb for years and turned himself into an all-rounder is Martin Bicknell, I wouldn't mind seeing him picked. Or Saggers of course ;)

1st day highlights:

England got hammered. So, what's new? Aus took Eng hammering to a new level the same way Eng took slip-shod fielding to a new level.

Ashley Giles was the best bowler for the Eng team! Wow!! didn't see that coming.

Simon Jones joined the Eng walking wounded team. They can form a walking wounded 11 now. I think they could give a good fight to the test 11.

Aus gained an even bigger psychological edge against England ie if such a thing was possible.

Hmmmm the prob is I don't think Jones will be walking any time soon...so it would be the "lying down wounded and walking wounded XI" :P

WOW....What a match that would be. It would be a bit unfair to bowl bouncers to the Laying down X1 though....

At least (until we bat anyway) we haven't done as bad as Pakistan did against the Aussies....

Nope rich thats not your exit route :P
Hey come on I need some ammo to play with here.... :P
Sorry guys. didn't mean to rub it in. I mean, India will probably meet a similar fate if and when they tour Australia. It's just that all the predictions and outlook pointed to an overwhelmingly one-sided series and it is proving to be sickeningly so from the first day itself.

I saw the catch and I feel it was a fair catch...if a bit of a hard desision to make really but I would have gone with Jones.
It wasn't hard at all - he didn't have control of it, and to gain control he would have had to cross the boundary rope and that would've been 6.

Bet nasser's on some similar lines at the moment ;)
No Nasser's excuse was that his whole squad was kidnapped and a bunch of imposters played insted ;)

Im sorry to say this but we need someone other than Caddick as opening bowler, he's just too inconsistant...and Jones who looked the most dangerous bowler on the tour so far, his tour's over, I just hope Gough's fit for the next test, I think Hoggard's taken only like 2 wickets so far in the entire tour...:(

I just hope they don't use that as an excuse for the inevitable defeat - his injury was a frak, but it's not as if he's a key batsman or bowler at the moment!
