If there was one player who could face up to the aussies it was trescothick, great to see him do his bit. If the English walk out with some pride through this series you can be sure tresco has done his job.....

Honestly though i heard he did well
That's because he was actually allowed to attack...

Brilliant day, hope we can keep this up tonight. And Warne was definitely out!

Wonder what the Headlines will be like in Australia this morning? GB enlighten us! :D

If England avoid the follow on as they look like doing, this test is headed for a draw. A draw that wasn't forced by rain certainly wasn't in the cards before the match started. If Eng keeps this up, the Ashes just might get interesting.

I think England can get it definatly...I mean if Butcher gets runs then probably even Crawley can get a few. Looks like Vaughan rattled McGrath for a bit, maybe its the pitch but he's not looking as dangerous as usual...and if Gillespie can't bowl then its all square with Jones out too.

Haha... I heard in an interview the Aussie press want to be able to write good things about us and they would rather see a very close series than Australia beating us 5-0..... Now who's going to blieve that!!!!

Well I don't think they have much bad to write about last night's events except about the Aussie team really. England played their socks off.

Agreed, and can't wait for today's play.. let hope for more of the same for England and I have to say that the days have really been very even England drop a few catches, now the Aussies have dropped a couple and missed a stumping... all looks good for a intresting day's play ahead.

I don't think England will be able to match the Aussies score but I reccon they could get 400, Tresco with his 1st hundred against the Aussies hopefully :)

The Missed Stumping

I thought it was (almost!) as bad a shocker as Vaughan's drop. A specialist keeper would have had him... ;)

COME ON ENGLAND!

Give Butcher some credit too. He's done it again to the Aussies despite seeming out of form in the warm ups!

The average is rising quickly!

Bugger, Butcher and Tresco out to McGrath...

And Silverwood is coming out to take Jones' place in the squad...

Here I am :D

What a good solid start to the day then that happens :(!

As for Silverwood, good call IMO I had Saggers or Sliverwood as my choices. Sliverwood was more of a like for like bolwer to Jones

I was hoping Kirtley got picked but Silvers aint a bad choice...ahhh well the game's still evenly poised...we'll get the follow on...I reccon...its just Tresco got out when I said he would probably get 100...I should have learnt from the Aussies when they forecast Hayden getting 300...and he hit 2 4s (strangely both in the same over...just like Tresco) and then he gets out...

Remember if England aviod the follow-on, then the Aussies will need at least half a day to bat again...which would leave England even less time to bat to save the game.

And it is still only 189/3, still A.Stewart, C.White, Giles to come plus whatever the current pair put on.
