Bicknell, using Marc's favourite argument, he is too old now...at 34 he is only likely to have 1 maybe 2 seasons left in him.
You mean you would put a rookie 34 year old in?
If hes a good enough bowler then why not?
And how can you say he's good enough?

He's about 8 years too old to have a chance for England.
He's younger than Caddick :P

How long you going to stay up for - till the 2nd Test?
2nd, your being nice aren't you Marc
Not with our attack, and I can't see Aus needing to bat again.

Strange, I was allways brought up thinking the lower the average the better, but obviously not...

How can u say that???

I mean if a guy has 10 wkts @ 10 from 100 overs and another guy has 30 wkts at @ 30 from 100 overs who would u take???
10 @ 10 is conceding 1 an over.
30 @ 30 is conceding 9 an over.

But I see your point.

You would... it's Neil and Me :P :D

Who do you think Marc???
I've heard rumours about Anderson.
Anderson's in Australia with the academy...so he wouldn't take long to meet up with the England Squad...

Well...you would :D:P:lol:
I always have been against him as he's too old to start a career at the expense of youngsters IMO.
Quality over age though...but what about Kirtley? He's not only a good one day bowler...

Possible replacements for S.Jones (to be named in 24 hours)

- Anderson
- Saggers
- Sliverwood
- Cork
- Kirtley

Aggers just listed Mark (!) Saggers, Dominic Cork, Jimmy Anderson and Chris Silverwood.

Personally I'd call up Silverwood, but put Freddie in next game to bat 6 and share 3rd/4th seamer with Chalky.

If you seriously expect a 30+ year old with almost no experience to be called up ahead of a promising youngster, you're more stupid than I thought you were.

Face it, were going to lose this series - better to give someone like Anderson a go and give hm experience for the future.
