Just watched the replay, so when exactly did Kohli go from being highly competitive & a bit of a dick at times, to being an absolute ****-head.

He's always had two wolves inside him. Getting married just made him angrier tbh.

yep its just a bit of a fluke. not convinced yet. Overhyped.

need to assess over many games. looks suspect versus spin(Jadeja got him out), imagine on the minefields of SL and co..He can hit pace reasonably well, so the challenge will be to maintain it. Hes going to get dropped like many other openers have, and then if he can come back from it etc...FC ave only 42 which is nothing special.

. Ponting had seasons where he averaged 60+ and he has an FC average of 56..
I prefer Travis Head opening with Khawaja in Sri Lanka tests

Allows us to squeeze middle order options at 5 and 6. Marsh def should not play in SL so that means we can try the likes of Inglis, Handscomb, Maxwell, Webster in those positions

Was what I thought but its certainly pretty harsh on Konstas unless he makes 3 straight globes from here.

Pretty extraordinary that it's been less than a year since the U19 World Cup. Never would have imagined Konstas would be playing this way at this level so soon while watching him there. The method may not be repeatable but full credit to him for coming up with a way to disrupt the Indian attack where senior players in the team failed.

Not going to worry about him going too far with the attacking approach just yet. Seems more like he's just trying some theories he's developed & still working out how to execute rather than turning himself into a mindless intent merchant. He's always seemed like a pretty sensible kid too.

Honestly the fact that he's improved so much since February when it looked like he had a gate you could drive a truck through does make me think he should just be backed to go to SL and see what happens. Clearly he has a problem with that ball angling into him, but he's still young enough to fix it in a hurry.

Agree. This is the best XI currently for spin/dirt tracks. Konstas doesnt have what it takes on spinning tracks IMHO.

1.Head
2.Khawaja(best player of spin in the side)
3.Labuschagne
4Smith
5. Inglis/Handscomb
6Beau Webster (pace/off spin all rounder) / Glenn Maxwell -this position replaces the struggling Marsh.
7Alex Carey (w/k)
8Pat Cummins (c)
9 Todd Murphy
10 Kuhnemann
11 N Lyon.

here u got 4 spinners, so if the track rips, then u should get wickets..the murphy/kuhnemann/lyon combo won a test in india...

SL have very good spinners, very good attack-. Vandersay is a very good leggie and Mendis is an offie with Prabath as the left arm spinner.

Vandersay, Prabath Jayasuriya and Ramesh Mendis

Whatever it takes!!!
That day is now only 60-40 Australia instead of being 90-10 which I feared. If we cant get them to less than 375, this game is dusted. Given how we bat, it may well be dusted anyways but just get a feeling we may bat far better here than we have been doing.

You’re crazy if you think that a 19yo monumentally talented kid won’t be able to work out how to play spin EVENTUALLY

What he did today is in no way normal

I was at the ground when Shastri scored a double ton against Warne on debut

People focused too much on Warne’s figures (about 1/150 IIRC) and not enough on the fact that he bowled about 25 unplayable balls that day

It's been talked about to death but the more you see it the more ridiculous it is.
Why on Sams's hill would Kohli make a fool of himself like that. It's actually so far beyond stupidity that it's embarrassing for the game.
