Rooney never has been an out-and-out striker.
Granted that's true but he seems more a midfielder now than before at least vs Fulham.He's not a striker but he barely looked like scoring.Only one or two times it seemed.

Didn't see the Fulham game, but United have played for the most part in recent times a 4-4-1-1 with Sheringham/Rooney/etc filling the role behind the striker. I really don't think one game's enough to start an inquest off. Try following a side where your centre back is your clear top scorer.

Chelsea
Gudjohnsen 9
Duff, Drogba, Terry 6

Exeter

Flack, Devine 6

We're also five games unbeaten in the FA Cup!

I was watching the game with a few Chelsea fans, and they accepted that it was a goal - not a single rule was broken in it, so there's no problem.
And while all Arsenal fans I know have argued that the qucik free-kick was legal, none have denied it was a dive.

I dunno if Kirkland was dropped or if he was injured/rested but if he was dropped that equaliser served Liverpool right...

Football is also a contact sport and if you blew the whistle for the every 'foul' as described above then henry would get to take 25 penalties a game.
Excpet Lampard and Makelele sandwiched the advancing Pires - a clear foul.

In what way were Chelsea delaying the kick?I saw them trying to organise their defence that's all and Gudjohnsen was well away from Henry when he was going to kick so he clearly couldn't have been too close to not allow the kick to take place.Please clarify.
Gudjohnsen was stood over the ball and turned away just before Henry took it - it was a poor effort from him to turn his back when he did.

Oh I see - so Rooney's penalty against Arsenal infact was a penalty then? 8-)
The foul on Pires was far more a foul than that one.

Of course your clear lack of knowledge of the rules will stop you from knowing that attempting to trip is a foul, whereas withdrawing your leg to avoid tripping is not.

What if he attempted to trip him, missed then withdrew his leg.

A quote of the rule/law that says attempting to trip is a foul would be interesting as well.

This is from memory - I'll find the actual quote in a moment

Law 12, Fouls and Misconduct.

A direct free kick will be awarded if a player commits any of the following offences:
...
* Trips or attempts to trip an opponent.

Law 12 – Fouls and Misconduct

Fouls and misconduct are penalised as follows:

* kicks or attempts to kick an opponent;
* trips or attempts to trip an opponent;
* jumps at an opponent;
* charges an opponent;
* strikes or attempts to strike an opponent;

A direct free kick is also awarded to the opposing team if a player commits any of the following four offences:
tackles an opponent to gain possession of the ball, making contact with the opponent before touching the ball
holds an opponent
spits at an opponent
handles the ball deliberately (except for the goalkeeper within his own penalty area)

Can't say I've seen a free kick awarded very often for attempts to kick/trip/strike an opponent. I think this section of the laws is taken with a large pinch of salt by referees.

Woah!Getting technical just to prove a point.Nice.
Well sorry for knowing the rules of the game before criticising a referee when he's made the right decison!
