Hannay is good and theres no room on the bench for bowman cause Bowen will be there, im of the opinion the team looks pretty set now...

1 Wesser 2 Slater 3 Hannay 4 Berrigan 5 Sing 6 Lockyer 7 Prince 8 Price 9 Smith 10 Civoniceva 11 Thorn 12 Crocker 13 Carroll Reserves 14 Ross 15 Flannery 16 Webb 17 Bowen

The only other guys with a shot are Thurston at halfback or Dallas Johnson on the bench...
It's not going to happen, but I'd much rather see Hodges at fullback than Rhys Wesser. Did anyone see his atempt of a one-on-one tackle on the weekend?

I think he'll do all right @ Super 12 level, but the Wallabies are very well served at fly-half & the centre at the moment. I guess Larkham won't be around for ever, but I reckon he'll be there til 2007 at least.

Eddie Jones seems to have played a pretty hands on role in the negotiations if the report is to be believed, so I guess he fancies Anasta as a player.

The Dogs are gonna be struggling to field 13 at this rate too....

well unfortunately u arent a Qld selector, because u can be 100% sure that wesser will be the fullback...
it was an awful attempt on Howell, but i dont think many fullbacks would have made that with the exception of Patten or Hornby who are defensively the two best fullbacks in the game...

Anasta will be used as a centre first, before playing 5/8.

andrew walker was good in union, he played for australia although in union to play for aus u only have to be a fit super 12 player pretty much...

Anasta is a far better player than walker anyway...

Walker was an average rugby union player. He would struggle to make most NZ Super 12 sides and didn't along with Wendal Sailor and to a lesser extent Mat Rogers and Lote Tuqeri rip up rugby union and run rings around everybody.

And Bard Thorn (who is excelling in league again) couldn't even make the all blacks last year

I am just like you broncoman.. I prefer rugby league to union but you are being a little unfair to the skill level in union.

Mate, the selectors have already said that Bowman will be somewhere in the 17. I don't know why they would pick Wesser, Prince or Flannery. Personally, I think showing 'loyalty' to players is so overrated. Where has showing loyalty taken Qld in the past few years? I mean, not counting Super League, since 1995 we have won two series.

There's little doubt that Prince has been totally outplayed by Thurston this year - Thurston is a much better defender too. As for Wesser, ask NSW if they want Bowen on the field for 80 minutes, or Wesser. They're equal in defence, and Bowen is far more lethal in attack.

Regarding Flannery, he is the jack of all trades, and the master of none. He never makes an impact. All Im saying is, why stick to guys who were in a losing team last year, when their potential replacements are more useful? A more potent team would be something like this:

1 Bowen
2 Sing
3 Berrigan
4 Bowman
5 Slater
6 Lockyer
7 Thurston

13 Carroll
12 Harrison
11 Thorn
10 Price
9 Smith
8 Civoniceva

- Webb
- Ross
- Crocker
- Jensen

Very unfair, like Blaze said.

Man, have you ever played both codes? To call Union players pansies is so wrong!

Good thing you stopped then, wouldn't want to call yourself a pansy.

Bowen ill not and should not be the fullback, hes has good speed and ball skills, but he is woeful under the high ball and saying his defence is suspect is a compliment, Flannery is a very useful player, he just needs to be used the right way. I personally would go with Thurston but prince will be selected. and i find it hard to believe thurston has completely outplayed him considering Prince is running top 3 in the dally m's...

id be still very surprsied is bowman finds a spot, i think hannay's goalkicking will get him over the line...

I have played both codes and although my love still is for league there is no way union players are pansies. If anything it's the other way around :-O :-O :-O

pretty hard for wendell to do anything when he never gets the ball... blacklock didnt even try, he wasnt prepared to put the work in to change codes...
and id say tuqiri has made the switch pretty well, i dont think we could ever answer the question to this until we have had players of great ability go each way...
