Alop Kopali - Ive heard some commentators say he is good. Bangladeshi and good?????? Hang on a min!
So he's automatically bad just because he's a Bangladeshi is he?
Sorry, that argument has holes you could drive a cdouble decker bus with wings through.

Steve Harmison - u seen him bowl lately? He might be quick but he does nothing else. He is the worst FC bowler i have ever seen!
James Anderson - oh he is young is he? So what? He has to prove himself first
They're young, and have performed rather well so far IMO - the Aussies seem to like them, so they can't be that bad!

It doesn't matter about the nationallity, it matters about how good the player is, and he looks a good batsman even though his Leg Spin looks nothing special.

Harmison is hardly the worst you'll see, check out the Bangladesh Pace Attack.

James Anderson - oh he is young is he? So what? He has to prove himself first

So your just going on the fact that he has not played many games? Maybe your forgetting that he has taken 50 Wickets in 13 FC Matches at 22.28 and in 3 ODIs he's taken 5 Wickets at 23.40

Although he's only started his career he's done bloody well and I can't understand why on earth you think he is over-rated!

I dont think the county game is a good enough meter of how good a player is any more. Look at Vaughan and Trescothick. They have never been really special at the county level but they were given their chance and they sure have taken it.
Anderson may have taken 50 FC wickets already, but look at guys like Bell and Kirby who had terrible second seasons.
As for Harmison, maybe I havent seen him bowling at his best yet.

Let's get his name right first - Alok Kapali. Okay, his leg spin ain't up to much, but he's shown technique, ability, guts and fight in the middle order and has saved them from embarrassment many times so far. Keep your eyes open, he ought to make a lot of test runs unless he gets injured. He's only 19, mind.

Flintoff - yes. He needs to a) get fit, b) bat better and c) bowl better

Harmison and Anderson - have pace and fight.. and hey, the Aussies like them, and they're still youngsters.

VVS Laxman - look back a few pages...

Muralitharan - Yes. Whatever. Grow up...

Kumar Sangakkara - Agreed.

SA - let's add Ashwell Prince to this list...

This comment is misinformed, biased and frankly, quite stupid.

yes yes...bit of a rash comment but Ive seen them on TV quite a bit and to put it plainly they arent up to Test standard.

One of the Chapples said he has seen better stuff being played in the park than in many domestic matches in Bangladesh. Its a bit of a farce that they are playing test cricket at the moment.
Im not saying they wont get better, but at the moment, they are better off not playing test cricket.

That doesn't mean one player can't be.

You could easily have said the same for South Africa 100 years ago. How else are they supposed to get better?

Well im not sure what happened back then, but nowadays some sort of domestic structure is needed, some sort of method for players to rise through the ranks. Bangladesh have had only a couple of seasons of four day cricket under their belts. Nearly all their players are bred on one and occasional three day cricket. They need a few years to get used to the concept of playing four or five day cricket, by getting a better domestic circuit going.
They definitely have the support and the stadia though.

He is not a flat off spinner. He has lots of variations and is bowling well in all conditions. He is not taking wickets outside India at the same spectacular rate as in India, but he is still taking them at a steady rate. It's true that he had one great series against Australia, but that can hardly be held against him.

Well he's better than Kumble who is a Leg-Spinner who only turns his googily...

Well he's right about the domestic structure...Bangladesh could have been given a few years to sort it out, I mean they didn't desperatly need to be promoted at that time did they?

I don't begrudge Bangladesh being in the test circuit, but frankly speaking... Bangladesh would not have got the test status at that stage if it was not for Dalmiya and his political ambitions in the ICC hierarchy.

It didn't have much to do with how capable they were but more to do with Dalmiya trying to get one more full vote in the ICC in his favour.

Right on about Dalmiya..

However, I do think that they'll come good pretty soon simply due to the amount of talented young players now coming through.

Ganguly's treading on a very fine wire here, he needs runs quickly.
Yes, he does have a reputation in one dayers unlike in tests and is rated highly. If he wants to uphold that, he needs to perform in the last 2 one dayers.
