Easily. And McGrath played against distinctly better batting lineups.

Near 400 with these numbers, he's likely the GOAT, definitely in the top 4.Bumrah having a series here like Warne did in 05. If it wasn't for him a tight series would be dramatically the other way.
Some bowler, hope he stays fit for the next few years and he gets somewhere near 400 wickets.
I am biased towards Bumrah because he is my current favourite and best bowler since Steyn but as an all round package Cummins might be better. So interesting question for the all rounder crowd.
Do they also say that factoring in captaincy and batting that Cummins is better than Bumrah?
Cummins would also average 23 without D/N tests so his home record is subtly padded in comparison to McGrath too.Interesting random coincidink with McGrath. Cummins has now played the same amount of tests as McGrath did in the 2000’s.
McGrath 66 tests 131 innings 297 @ 20.53 14 5’fers 2 10’fers SR 51.4
Cummins 66 tests 123 innings 289 @ 22.50 13 5’fers 2 10’fers SR 46.4
Both have been crazy in Aus but Cummins well behind McGrath away.
Definitely the Greatest campaign for a bowler. Kohli was even better imho.In edition to having one of the great years that any test bowler has had, Bumrah also won of POTS in the greatest single individual campaign for a T20 player. Let that sink in
Career wise, Cummins is probably a better bowler than bumrah anyway, he's just had a bit of a tough patch the last few years. He's not even a mediocre batsman so not sure how batting even factors in.So interesting question for the all rounder crowd.

This lot were quite effectiveHe should get man of the series quite easily, but if Smith tons up again in Sydney, or Dreamboat Pat gets another 5 for/cracks a 50, I wouldn't be surprised to see them go with the winning team.
Bumrah deserves it though, He has had an amazing series. The polar opposite to the many whimpering, ineffectual English bowlers we have seen stain these shores since the year 2000.
How so? Bumrah has better average, SR and even wpm which used to be lower. And of course Bumrah is not one trick pony or too dependent on conditionsCareer wise, Cummins is probably a better bowler than bumrah anyway
Cummins has been doing it longer but Bumrah's peak is probably better than Cummins'How so? Bumrah has better average, SR and even wpm which used to be lower. And of course Bumrah is not one trick pony or too dependent on conditions
Overall body of work matters imoNah Cummins has never succeeded in Asia(apart from one series in Pak). Bumrah has success at home, Aus, SA, Eng. A more complete record
Missing the biggest challenge, Pakistan. We dock Lillee points for a reason.A more complete record
@subshakerz is Root an all time test great?Overall body of work matters imo
This is like saying Root isn't an all time test great because he hasn't scored a century in Australia
Not directed towards me, but would say no.@subshakerz is Root an all time test great?
Lol Cummins' batting is hardly worth anything..... But career wise, that might just be enough to put them next to each other. So interesting question for the all rounder crowd.
