Jimmy Maher out for 187 falls short of the first ever domestic one day 200. Queensland closing in on 400. Stuart Law out for 95 in his last one-day game at the Gabba.

Shame I had to leave early to go out tonight, but I still got to see Maher get his 100.

Maher beats Murray Goodwin's record of 167.

Queensland 400/4 (49.0 ov)

pretty good effort :)

though WA could make 300 in the chase, if campbell or Goodwin fire in particular

Queensland 405/4 (50.0 ov) talk about a bad last over :)

I think if you've got 400 on the board you can afford 5 off the last over.:D

405 is the Aussie domestic one day record I believe!
Pretty amazing stuff :O
Although (and Im not saying this because I come from WA) if anyone can do it, its WA. Their batting line up is pretty damn good. Good thing Hussey and Campbell are back!

Wow! huge score!

At the Gabba of all places. Thats not a small ground by any means.

WA have been by far the best batting team in the ING cup this year but this should be well beyond them.

First ever Australian One Day 200, that is.
Yeah, that's what I mean. I forgot about 20-20...lol.

Finally W.A.'s bowling was shown up for what it really was - ****e! The W.A. batsman have got them through on too many occasions and hiding the obvious lack of bowling depth in the West.

There's only ever been one Twenty20 century - there's not the time to make 200! (Ian Harvey).

OD Scores greater than 200:

268 AD Brown Surrey v Glamorgan Oval 2002
222* RG Pollock Eastern Province v Border East London 1974/75
206 AI Kallicharran Warwickshire v Oxfordshire Birmingham 1984
203 AD Brown Surrey v Hampshire Guildford 1997
202* A Barrow Natal v South Africa African XI Durban 1975/76
201 VJ Wells Leicestershire v Berkshire Leicester 1996

The 268 was a farcical game - tiny boundaries, Surrey made 438 and then Glamorgan made 429 in reply, Robert Croft hitting Martin Bicknell's first five balls for four.

Maher's isn't even an Australian record - Darren Lehmann made 191 at Scarborough against Notts in 2001.

:O :O Wow amazing stuff by Queensland there, and as Eclispe said, just can't believe it happened at the Gabba!:)

I'm really hoping the Vics get absolutely raped by Tassie today. The bowlers have done the hard work and that's what needed to happen. The bowlers are a bit of a weak link for Tassie, but they've down well and the batters should knock off 219, especially with Watto and Marsh playing well this season (in some form or another).

Go down Vics, WA need to make the final. :(

The amazing part Surrey had some decent bowlers playing in that game.

I wonder why it is that WA teams really are just crap away from home...! It happens in footy aswell!!

Ah well, I suppose they had to give the Queenslanders a bit back after their last encounter. At least, thats my theory ;) Perhaps Maher is just reminding the selectors hes still alive.

Its true about WA's bowling, but still I think they have been quite alright up till now... the match against NSW in Perth was an example of that. It was a big loss of Michael Clark (again), I really feel for that guy, he's so good and quite young, but just cannot get away from the injurys.

C'MON TASSIE!! I want a home final, hear me?
They are currently 1/51 after 11 overs. Dighton was run out... kind of a good thing he was doing nothing at all!

Well as far as I can see WA are officially through to the final. Great rallying from Watson and Bailey (they must have been absolutely @®$ed, I'm sweating in less heat while typing on a computer).

Watson just keeps getting better. Warne had no idea how to bowl to Watto today. Watto charged him early on, so when Warne compensated Watto went onto the back foot. Brilliant stuff.

One thing I heard, which was quite odd, was something Ian Chappell said when Warne got Marsh LBW. Warne didn't appeal, although it certainly looked out to everyone (keeper, slip, the umpire, me). Chappell described it as disgraceful umpiring if you give a batsman out when the bowler doesn't appeal. In my opinion that's disgraceful commentating. I can only think that Warne was expecting a bit of turn so he didn't appeal. Still, there's no reason to base the validity of an appeal solely on whether or not the bowler goes up.

Exactly, unless the rules have been changed - it's an appeal by the fielding team, doesn't have to be the bowler.

Come to think of it had Surrey lost, I would of shot my bowlers or sent them to rot in club cricket forever.
